President Trump: “If we don’t get a fair deal from Congress, the government will either shut down on February 15th, again or I will use the powers afforded to me under the laws & the Constitution of the United States to address this emergency.”
And POTUS 45 followed that up with this tweet a few minutes ago…
"I wish people would read or listen to my words on the Border Wall. This was in no way a concession. It was taking care of millions of people who were getting badly hurt by the Shutdown with the understanding that in 21 days, if no deal is done, it’s off to the races!"

For heaven’s sake. It’s an EMERGENCY. President Trump diminishes that reality when he continues to threaten to treat it as such.
We’ll know by Feb 15 if this was President Trump’s READ MY LIPS moment.

I think he will declare a National Emergency and it will take 5 seconds for some douche bag judge in some commie state to overturn it, but I still want President Trump to do it because at least he tried..and then let it go to the Supreme Court
imo, the critical point is how Trump manages a restraing order by a court.
Does he have a plan or does he rely on the JUstice Dept?

I trust Trump, he is honorably dealing with the Dems. As long as they offered to deal if the government was reopened, it is not an emergency. Ball is in Traitors court now, and Trump taking the higher ground, means he can just say tighten the deal, then call an emergency if the Dems do not co-operate.

Trump did NOT cave. He’s working within the rules and confines of his position and made a compromise. That’s what pols are supposed to do. Not what Shucky Chucky and Piglosi are doing which is being a brick WALL.

A national emergency will be portrayed as a political stunt. It will be useless and ineffective.
