Pelosi: Calling Trump ‘Mother-******’ No ‘Big Deal;’ Doesn’t ‘Have Impact on Peoples’ Lives’

It’s no big deal that her colleague, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) called President Donald Trump a “mother-******,” House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told an MSNBC town hall on Friday.

Thursday, on her first day on the job, Rep. Tlaib declared, “We’re gonna go in and impeach the mother******!” Asked to comment on the vulgar remark, Pelosi invoked “freedom of speech” — and said people shouldn’t make a big deal of it:

“That’s freedom of speech on an individual member. As I said, generationally, that would not be language that I would use. But, nonetheless, I don’t think we should make a big deal of it. I really don’t. I really don’t.” […]
Speaker Pelosi said she has no intention of trying to limit the vulgarity of her party. …

Well, it’s going to lower their whole fan base.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I noticed the crowd around her erupting in raucous applause immediately after she said it.

It’s the “broken window” syndrome that affects neighborhoods and whole cities. When broken windows are left unmended, the general tone of the entire area drops, and an overall malaise and decline set in, it becomes “OK” to be less than civil to those you are in daily contact with.

This extends to speech patterns and in general daily interactions, like deliberately shouldering up against others you meet on the street, or various rudeness in gestures and speech to otherwise total strangers. This may result in more physical confrontations, road rage and shootings, and a general frustration with life, showing little or no regard for the rights of others. Soon, there are mobs forming, and widespread urban guerrilla warfare has broken out. Like Napoleon Bonaparte firing his “whiffs of grapeshot” into the rioting crowds storming in the streets of Paris, it may take overwhelming force to quell the disturbances and restore some semblance of order, followed by a near-dictatorial rule until things get back in hand.

Mother, when did we lose control of the kids?

The press shredded Joe Wilson when he had the temerity.

“As I said, generationally, that would not be language that I would use.”

So, that woman can't condemn vulgar, sexually explicit talk directed at children.

Within two years I expect to see that language routinely used on the House floor. It is deteriorating rapidly.

I think that Pelosi is under siege by the radicals in her caucus. She is not going to be able to control them.

I can understand that trash like this exists BUT I cannot understand why trash like this is voted into positions of leadership?

The bar for acceptable language and conduct is lowered considerably for Democrats, and particularly for those belonging to a protected class.

“...we’re going to do everything we can, every single day, to give you you’re democracy back.” - Nancy Pelosi, naked Fascist

Stalinists lie. Always

Despotism (Encyclopedia Britannica film, circa 1946)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaWSqboZr1w

“A community is low on a ‘Respect’ scale if common courtesy is withheld from large groups of people on account of their political attitudes.”

“...in a downright despotism opposition is dangerous whether the despotism is official or whether it is unofficial...”

“A community rates low on the ‘Information’ scale when the press, radio, and other channels of communication are controlled by only a few people and when citizens have to accept what they are told.”

“See how a community trains its teachers”
“...these students are being taught to accept uncritically whatever they are told. Questions are not encouraged.”

“And if books and newspapers and the radio [and facebook and youtube and...] are officially controlled the people will read and accept exactly what the few in control want them to. Government censorship is one form of control. The newspaper that breaks the government censorship rule can be suspended. It is also possible for newspapers and other lines of communication to be controlled by private interests...”

Democracy (Encyclopedia Britannica film, circa 1946)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bx25aMPvbJo

“The newspapers of a real democracy meet these tests...”

Newspaper checks.
1. Balance of coverage
2. Disclosure of source
3. Competence of staff

I actually agree with her on this re: the language.

I happen to think this new member is a traitor in action, but Trump broke through to the electorate with coarse speech—and this is just taking it somewhat further.

There is a completely misguided element to our coalition that thinks swearing has become a matter of staking a claim against political correctness. Completely missing that what we should be allowed to do isn’t necessarily what we should do.

Not Pelosi; debunked years ago. That pic of that model was taken in 1951, when Pelosi was age 11.

Here’s the former Miss D’Alessandro at age 20, with JFK. The eyes and the nose have no resemblance to the model, obviously.
