She just left, she got very heated and angry with me. We were debating the state of the economy and the effects on minorities and she started spewing vile curse words and invective on Christmas Day.
Wow. Threw the Christmas cake on the ground. She's 35-years old, works in finance in Morristown, NJ and New York City.
I'm perplexed this holiday season. Now, I just want to stay home and just watch TV or something. Should I bring them over again?

While my reflexive response is consistent with AbnSarge, this might be an opportunity to get your point across. I would write her a letter (registered mail so she can't say she didn't get it), and tell her that
'Christmas was less without you, and it's a time for family to put aside their issues and concentrate on what really matters - God and love. This, more than anything, is what brings hope that all the problems in the world you and I argued about the solutions for, will somehow be solved. If you embrace that I, and most of those you might not agree with, have love and goodwill as our intentions, and want everyone to have a better life, but just don't agree with you on how to achieve that, we can have a common ground on which to build. I'm sorry this happened on such a special day. Happy New Year. You are always welcome here.'
Just my two-cents. That said, you have every right to do whatever you think is best. Merry Christmas to you!

We discuss politics among my liberal friends but we have to reach common ground. If they bring up Global Warming, the response from the conservatives is always “whatever...”. It maddens them that they can’t make us care, not that they are doing something about it. Hell, I do more to slow Global Warming than they do and I don’t even believe in it.
In the end, none of this affects us very much and that’s what gets to them.
I am sorry your Christmas day was marred. However, based on personal experience, she will disassociate from you. Her biased and twisted liberal logic has no room to allow that she was wrong so she will turn all of that negativity against you. You won’t need to worry about whether or not to invite her anytime in the next decade. She will ignore you. Already unfriended, too, I bet. :D

I’m now living, and retired in York, PA, after 23yrs building and running a 20ac nursery & garden center.
I went back to the Hillsborough area in the late 90s, and got lost! They’re straightened out the winding country roads, and had done so much condo building, that I was flabbergasted. Had to stop a cop and ask him what happened to my old condo complex. He had a good laugh.
Morristown and Convent Station were pretty much the same as when I left NJ in ‘89.
