This is most definitely coming... Democrats in New York, led by Cuomo, have been wanting it for years.

Let them try. Perfect 2020 issue for Trump to hold every red state he won in 2016.

Democrat-controlled states will push more voters out the Democrat’s grip because the gun laws don’t work. It’s a feel-good measure that does nothing to help the problem. The Democrats will even admit that as they push for even tougher restrictions.

Confiscation maybe coming in some areas, but not the country in general for reasons of the dems being in power.

They do not control the Senate or the Oval Office. The Supreme Court is also not in their full control.

Therefore, they are not in power, the article is misleading.

Back when they were in near full control of govt with obama in power, they did less than Clinton did with regards to gun control.

But I agree, they will make more efforts. They may succeed at state levels colored blue, but not red states.

My concern are gun bans by popular referendum. Florida voters are working to get an assault weapons ban on the ballot in 2020 and I have no doubt every minivan-driving soccer mom will vote for it.

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.” ― Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn , The Gulag Archipelago 1918-1956

They only control the House. Without the Senate and the White House they can’t confiscate anything.

I moved to KY from Seattle several years ago. I’m good for a while.

It’s not “cold dead hands” time yet, at least in THIS commonwealth.

This has been the hidden goal since Thomas J Dodd and Emanuel Cellar said..”WE ONLY want to register your handguns, not confiscate them! Long guns will not be affected!”

So how far have they come since they said that!

Thomas J. Dodd was the politician who wrote the 1968 Gun Control Act using the 1938 Nazi Weapons law of Germany as a pattern.

Gun confiscation is coming, but it won’t be overnight. We’re not going to see hundreds of SWAT teams sweeping the nation to confiscate ARs.

Gun control at the federal level will mirror the approach we’ve seen at the state level. The Dems will at some point control both Houses and the WH. First, they’ll pass an “assault weapon” and “high” capacity magazine ban, similar to the previous one....but without an expiration date this time. You’ll be allowed to keep already owned weapons, but it will ban manufacture and transfers.

Just as when the 1994 AWB was passed, gun owners will grumble and gripe, but nothing more. After all, it won’t be as if they’re actually taking anything away (yet). Let things settle in for some years. Then, after an inevitable horrific mass shooting,, pass a mandatory “buy back” of the Australian model, giving something close to market value. Many gun owners will comply. Many will not. What they won’t do is go door to door for them, in spite of million of Americans becoming felons overnight.

As the years go by, one will regularly read of incidents where someone had an illegal gun or magazine in their car when being pulled over, or in their house during a domestic dispute call, resulting in felony charges getting tacked on (as is currently the case in a couple of states). As the years go by, some guns are surreptitiously passed down to family members. Many aren’t.

As the decades roll on, there remains a small, increasingly rare group of Americans with access to such weapons.

I very much hope I’m wrong , but this (or something similar) seems to me most likely scenario.

Let the Lib states disarm their tax paying citizens and throw them in the can. They all deserve each other.
