Get Ready: With Democrats in Power, 2019 Will Be the Year of Gun Confiscation
The Lid ^ | 12/11/2018

A court recently upheld New Jersey’s ban on firearm magazines that hold more than ten rounds, but state officials have steadfastly refused to inform the citizens just how they intend to enforce that law. But the fact that it was upheld and coupled with news in a growing list of other states — not to mention the noise from Washington DC proves that the Democrats intend to make 2019 the year of gun confiscation and ending the Second Amendment in every way without saying it openly.

As to New Jersey, Governor Phil Murphy signed the ban on extended magazines in June, but it immediately underwent an appeal by gun supporters. But it looks like supporters of the Constitution lost that battle.

...

So far, the state imagines it has the right to ban these common ammunition magazines. But, just how do officials plan to prosecute people who simply refuse to voluntarily hand over their magazines?

No one is saying.

By the time it reaches the red states it will be too late..,

That’s my take.

I remember, back in high school (I graduated in 1972) my friends and I were discussing US Savings Bonds and one kid said, “What if, by the time it matures, the government is not honoring it?”

I said, “If you live in a world where the Federal Government is not honoring your savings bonds, that will be the least of your problems.”

This has been the hidden goal since Thomas J Dodd and Emanuel Cellar said..”WE ONLY want to register your handguns, not confiscate them! Long guns will not be affected!”

So how far have they come since they said that!

Thomas J. Dodd was the politician who wrote the 1968 Gun Control Act using the 1938 Nazi Weapons law of Germany as a pattern.

Perhaps we should respond by banning abortions in the same manner.

If the 2nd Amendment can be tossed by a vote, then so can the non-existent right of females to murder babies.

Ditto! Many of us are at an age that we don”t give a sht if we kill somebody trying to take our legally owned firearms.Be nice to get three or four of them before they get us. We win!! none of us are getting off this planet alive anyway!

“They do not control the Senate or the Oval Office. The Supreme Court is also not in their full control.”

The blogger seems to be under the impression they are.

Remember that they will come with overwhelming force...you resist, you die, and the problem resolves itself.

As an aside, you may wonder how they know you even have a gun if it’s been “off the grid” sort of thing. I submit that the states have been cruising around with imaging devices (radar) that can easily see through the walls of your home and they are fully aware of what you have in terms of firearms/ammunition, and where they are located. They do a drive by in the middle of the night and who’s to even notice, do a fly over while you’re at work, etc.

When they come for you...they will be prepared to either take you into custody or kill you, with the latter being preferred.

I would suggest the creation of oil filled PVC canisters that you can use to bury your weapons off site and retrieve when the SHTF.

I am not even sure they will win in blue states long term if the SC remains 2A friendly.

How can a state be told they cannot ban Abortion when it isn’t even so clearly defended in the constitution as the 2A. And I would argue it isn’t at all.

But we are in fact living the true purpose of the 2A as our founders intended. The would be tyrants have to beg us to surrender our rights, for now.

Gun confiscation is coming, but it won’t be overnight. We’re not going to see hundreds of SWAT teams sweeping the nation to confiscate ARs.

Gun control at the federal level will mirror the approach we’ve seen at the state level. The Dems will at some point control both Houses and the WH. First, they’ll pass an “assault weapon” and “high” capacity magazine ban, similar to the previous one....but without an expiration date this time. You’ll be allowed to keep already owned weapons, but it will ban manufacture and transfers.

Just as when the 1994 AWB was passed, gun owners will grumble and gripe, but nothing more. After all, it won’t be as if they’re actually taking anything away (yet). Let things settle in for some years. Then, after an inevitable horrific mass shooting,, pass a mandatory “buy back” of the Australian model, giving something close to market value. Many gun owners will comply. Many will not. What they won’t do is go door to door for them, in spite of million of Americans becoming felons overnight.

As the years go by, one will regularly read of incidents where someone had an illegal gun or magazine in their car when being pulled over, or in their house during a domestic dispute call, resulting in felony charges getting tacked on (as is currently the case in a couple of states). As the years go by, some guns are surreptitiously passed down to family members. Many aren’t.

As the decades roll on, there remains a small, increasingly rare group of Americans with access to such weapons.

I very much hope I’m wrong , but this (or something similar) seems to me most likely scenario.

These people need to understand that “Democrats in power” isn’t a thing.

We are in power and it’s time to make this known.

I fully agree. There’s no way in hell even an idiot could reason that abortion is clearly outlined in the Constitution as a right. Roe v Wade was pure political. The Constitution is all about life and liberty, not genocide.

The 2A fits with life and liberty, where we have the right to defend such.

As a fantasy, wouldn’t it be nice for the unborn to be taught how to fire little miniature Uzi’s and shoot the bastards as they are being aborted? Be a great pro-life sci-fi flick.

"...it won’t be overnight..."

Exactly correct, Simon Green.

They will play the “long game” and seek to smoke us out using our families, jobs, assets, and other powerful cudgels to foster division.
Maybe gun owners will find their bank accounts and credit cards “frozen” due to a misunderstanding about earlier firearms ownership not yet resolved?

When they twist the screws hard enough to get down to the final 3% of patriotic Americans, it will be as Ouderkirk shared...with remarkable force.
Rest assured the media will be given an inflated number of weapons about the basement “armory/arsenal” uncovered at each raid..
You can bet the farm they will “conveniently find” kiddie porn, mass murder plans, and illegal drugs at every remaining house they raid. Bank on it.

Thanks for the ping, Blue Jays, that sequence does look very familiar.

Yep, it will be slow, maybe over a decade, and they will appear to ‘compromise’ a bit along the way, but the only movement will be in one direction - their direction. The mistake our side keeps making is thinking that there will be a single Mulan Rouge moment, or whatever they call it, which will be the equivalent of a Pearl Harbor, where we’ll all take it as a signal to rise up and violently resist. Sorry, not going to happen. Instead it will be laws designed to go at it from both directions: The first direction is to simply cut down on the number of gun owners, and the easiest way is to go after the low hanging fruit...the non-political owners who have one handgun for the case of that unexpected home invasion - those are the buyback people, the ones who also will say “If I now have to keep it locked up, what’s the point in owning it”. And what then happens to many, if not most, of those people: Well, if they don’t have access to a gun for protection, then they start agreeing with Democrats that no one should have access...we lose their votes (and those votes help us in many more ways than just gun control). And just like that, half the gun owners are gone, many to the other side. The other direction are the hard-core types - just as you guys said, it will be ex-wives, ex-girlfriends, etc. Just a further way to exact revenge - make up a story about the guy, possibly with some prodding from their attorneys to pull more money, and here come the police. Lots of other methods too. For example, it’s now common practice for doctors to ask kids if there are guns in the house - and I have no clue what happens to those answers. Go to a shrink and you’re put on a list of crackpots that will likely get used in the future to lock you out of gun ownership. God knows what else.

The key is to fight early and always remember, as we have now seen from the Left, is that they NEVER STOP. The example that I always use is gay ‘marriage’. At the beginning, when it was first discussed about 20 years ago, probably 80% of the country was against it. By the time the Supreme Court bellowed 12 years later, it was maybe 50-50. So what caused the huge change in such a short time? Did people fall in love with the idea? Nope. People simply wanted gays to get out of their faces - so give them their stupid marriage, and we’ll be left alone. Remember they used to say “How is a straight person affected if 2 gays get ‘married’”? Now we have the answer - try baking a cake, or sending your kids to public school (where they no longer even have to bother letting parents know what’s going on), or send your kids to a book reading in a public library where trannies are doing it (don’t laugh, it’s nationwide now), including in Houston.

So, for people on our side who think they’ll go away if we give them this law or that law...not a prayer.
