I’m a local volunteer. They sent me a contact list of republicans who put in for an absentee ballot, but it hasn’t been returned yet. Pretty sure it’s public information.

They want me to contact them as a reminder. I wrote a script I follow. Not thrilled with the task, but...I’m doing it.

“My name is_____. I appologize for this intrusion. I’m a volunteer with the Volusia RNC, and they asked me to contact you...”

Easiest explanation is that it’s just poorly conceived marketing copy and they’re not actually cross-checking ballots and addresses at all.

That’s a lot like that Ted Cruz mailer back in the ‘16 election that revealed your neighbors’ voting habits to you, and yours to them. A campaign just doesn’t need this kind of crap.

Depends on the tone, but sometimes people won’t get out to vote without a kick in the pants. They “mean to” vote GOP but they somehow never get there and then they complain when the Dem gets elected.

BTW, the county has all your voting data, and that’s how voter fraud is prevented (or could be, if the courts actually allowed counties to demand voter ID).

Just get out and VOTE REPUBLICAN!

I received the same message or one close to it. I took it as a reminder to mail my ballot and was not offended.

Maybe Old Fred got the same message and he remembered to stamp it and put it in the mail.

It’s called get out the vote. Nothing to get alarmed about. Probably don’t even really know if someone in the household hasn’t returned their ballot yet.

New to voting are you?

Every time you go to the polls they check off your name. THAT is how they know you voted!

When you turn in an absentee ballot they check off your name. THAT is how they know you voted.

These records are PUBLICrecords and anyone can see who has voted and who has not voted. It is not a conspriacy. Moreover it keeps everyone honest by providing a public record of who has voted, so that someone cant come in after you voted and try to vote for you.

“No one has the information to say who has or hasn’t returned a ballot.”

Yes, they do. Log on to your Secretary of State weblage. You can track when a ballot was requested, when it was mailed, and when it has been received.

In years past, the political phone calls would noticeably drop off once the ballot is confirmed returned to the county auditor or whoever. They don’t bother people who’ve already voted, obviously.

A better question is whether they know who you voted for the last 20 years. I don’t think there’s much question about that either.

Slightly off topic, but I am so goddamn sick of these Jason Crow 'Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger Army Ranger' commercials.

Good for him for doing that, I doubt I could get through Ranger School, but doesn't he have anything else to say? His opponent is a retired Marine, who unretired to go back to Iraq, then retired again.

It’s public information. It’s called get out the vote effort. It’s the kind of stuff that prevents you from having Jared Polis, a homo,
as a governor banning all fracking, Drilling, and outlawing private health insurance and having single-payer Colorado Health Care. Get over it sport.

I received one as well very threating and it sounded like a dangerous person. The weird thing is I just got off a court case in Seattle with the massive leftist there.

The fun thing is I cast my ballot yesterday and voted across the board Red. So I told this guy that and also said the dem party should have been abolished in 1865.

Nice day... your probably going to go away in a few weeks permanently Democrats. Bye

Whether you have voted is a public record. It runs about 2-3 days behind.

So you vote. It takes the clerk 2-3 days to post that you have voted.

Should the caller have pretended she didn’t know?

I’m afraid there aren’t enough Republicans left in CO (as with VA too) to do much of anything to halt the leftists there.

“Hi this is Lindsey with the Colorado Republican committee. Our record show that you or someone in your household has not yet returned your ballot. Everyone has a voice in this election. Jared polis wants to bring his boulder liberal agenda to all of Colorado by socializing our Health Care increasing our taxes and taking jobs away from Colorado and we need every Republican voter this election. Please return your ballot today. This call was paid for by Colorado Republican Party at 970-329-1690.”

Why?
This is not creepy!! Democrats calling you and want your vote now that is creepy!!!

I like the honesty of it. Especially since it is public information and all campaigns work on getting out “their vote” that hasn’t shown up yet.

Republican robocalls in Colorado can get pretty obnoxious. I remember the day I unplugged my land line for good. It was after several days of it ringing off the hook with such calls.

Back when I was involved with the local Republican party, they ran an aggressive phone bank. Public reaction was strongly negative. I remember once when I was manning the desk at Republican HQ, I took a phone message from a storekeeper who was furious about the Party bombarding his business phone. After the election was over, they decided that the level of pestering needed to be turned down in the next election.
