Sorry about the poopy and gross subject matter here but I need to get this off my chest. I'll hide this post in "Bloggers & Personal" so the regular news-seeking folk don't have to see it.
So it is a somewhat mild autumn day here in New England and thus a perfect day to go on a hike in one of the various state and town forests that abound in this part of Connecticut.
During my walk, I saw at least a half dozen little baggies full of dog poop, all neatly tied off and discarded along the side of the trail. I have been seeing this more and more over the past few years.
Can somebody explain this to me? Why on earth would people think it a good thing to bag up their dog's poop, tie it off, and toss it to the ground in the MIDDLE OF THE WOODS!
I just want to find these people and punch them in the face.
Do these ignoramuses think they are doing a good thing here? It would be far better to just let their dogs poop in the woods like all the other animals living in the woods do so that the feces can quickly decompose and blend into the soil. Where do these people think the deer, squirrels and other woodland creatures crap? Guess what, they are WALKING THROUGH IT!
Don't these people know what soil is mostly made of? Organic matter! Which includes a lot of dead insects, dead plants, dead animals and FECES!
It is much better for the environment to just let the dogs poop in the woods. When they bag it up in plastic and leave it sitting there, it might still be there years from now. All these "do-gooders" are doing is PRESERVING their disgusting dog poop and blighting the landscape with these infernal blue poop-filled baggies.
If anybody has a good reason for this practice of bagging dog poop in the woods and leaving it there, I'd like to hear it.
They’re depending upon people like us to pick it up for them.
Better than here in Sonoma County, CA. We have homeless and bicyclists crapping everywhere.
Expecting a cholera outbreak any day.
......... you are COMPLETELY CORRECT!!!
Some put it aside then pick it up on they way back?
......... you are COMPLETELY CORRECT!!!
This is the same as people who toss their trash on the sidewalk, even though there is a trash can 10 feet in front of them: NO sense of responsibility. (I was witness to this exact action in Las Vegas a few years ago.)
They are too lazy and self-absorbed to think their actions through.

No sh*t, sir!
I mean, "Yes sh*t, sir."
That would be the only valid reason but I’ve seen the same bags in the same locations on separate days. So not everybody does that.
Those are left by Libs, they think government will come around and pick up for recycling. You know, government is the answer to all problems!
Just one part of this- the bags made for that purpose are biodegradable.
Even worse are the neighbors who walk their dogs in the middle of the night and let them do the business on your front yard without picking up.
Good grief. Either take it with you or dig a shallow hole and cover it. Im not fond of piles of poop in the middle of a jogging trail, if your dog is getting ready to go and he is on leash, take him off the trail and its fine.

Butch Cassidy: We seem to be a little short on brotherly love around here. ------------ Gunman: If you're with him, you'd better get yourself out of here. -------------- Butch Cassidy: We're on our way. Come on. ----------- Sundance Kid: I wasn't cheating. ------------ Butch Cassidy: Come on! ------------ Sundance Kid: [louder] I wasn't cheating. ---------- Gunman: You can die. For that matter, you can both die. ---------- Butch Cassidy: You hear that? --------- Sundance Kid: If he invites us to stay, then we'll go...He's got to invite us to stick around. --------- Butch Cassidy: He'll draw on ya. He's ready. You don't know how fast he is. I'm over the hill, but it can happen to you.--------- Sundance Kid: That's just what I want to hear. ---------- Butch Cassidy: Every day you get older. Now that's a law! What would you think about maybe asking us to stick around? -------- Gunman: What? ------------ Butch Cassidy: You don't have to mean it or anything. Just ask us to stick around. I promise you...[The gunman refuses to listen and pushes Butch away] I can't help you, Sundance. [When the gunman realizes that he is up against quick-draw "Sundance," a horrified, dismayed look crosses his face] --------- Gunman: I didn't know you were the Sundance Kid when I said you were cheating. If I draw on you, you'll kill me. ------------- Sundance Kid: There is that possibility.
I was in the drive thru at a fast food restaurant today watching the car in front get their order. After giving the cashier the money the people in the car- a fairly new expensive SUV probably 20 years younger than my old truck- threw out their trash when she turned away to get their food. The restaurant employee had just finished policing the lot when I placed my order and here this filth on wheels was fouling it up again mere minutes later.
If trash bothers them so much in their car that they just have to throw it out right then rather than take it home, why didn’t they just ask her if she would dispose of it? Or simply go to the dumpster the restaurant has right there in plain view?
Dirtbags.
At our local dog park, which is about a circular mile, people do that, then finish the route with their dogs, then pick up the bag on their way out. It’s a very clean dog park.
Probably. When I used to run with my dog, if she pooped early in the run, I would bag it, leave it, and pick it up on the way back.
Sad. Every fast food restaurant I’ve every been in has a trash can by the entry door, those lazy inconsiderate SOB’s!
