Ulticlip’s new Slim
Am Shooting Journal ^ | 10/16/2018 | C Cocoles

Designed for ease of carry, concealment and retention, Ulticlip is unlike any holster clip on the market.
"The major complaint of firearm and knife owners is that there is a lack of retention and versatility with their clips," explains Ulticlip president Randall Darby.
"We hear stories of holsters coming off when the owner draws their firearm, or their knife not being accessible."
They were looking for a clip that would provide a superior carry option that would offer concealment, exceptional retention, and would work without having to wear a belt.

Our original Ulticlip is designed as a solution to fix those issues. It works with leather or singlepoint-attachment holsters.
Its unique design allows holsters to be securely clipped on clothing and bags, while still remaining concealed.
No matter what you're wearing, where you're going, or what you’re carrying, Ulticlip has got you covered.
The innovative clamping design allows the user to securely carry a knife or tool sheath horizontally, vertically, sideways or downward. The options are endless...See the rest of Ulticlip.

I like the Ulticlip for its minimalist size and gripping power, what a pain to take off your belt or pants!

So what? I sometimes appreciate posts like this because I never would have known this item existed. It fulfills a need I have.

Do you know if it can be used outside the waist band too?

I’m thinking for a large sheath knife.

Do you own one? I thought it looked very interesting, and would like to try it out.

Ulticlips are bombproof. Todd Rexford uses them on some of his sheaths.

However.... “....and would work without having to wear a belt.” Sorry, a belt is one of the minimums of going about armed. Yeah, blending in is important for undercover secret squirrel types, but for normal armed folk, not so much. Carrying concealed is not a style but a life choice. Clothes move completely from the concept of clothes as fashion to clothes as equipment. The gun stays on the body, a belt is the way to do this.

I have one that has made its way onto and then off of a pistol holster made by Cook's Holsters in Georgia. Being flat and dull black, it blends into a black belt very nicely. It was easy enough to put onto a belt or waistband; the problem comes when taking it off. It may be the best thing out there for situations where you would not be using a belt, such as sweat pants.

Good news - bad news. It seriously clamps down such that you'll probably break a fingernail if that is your only leverage. That does help make the case for it being the single attachment point for a holster in that there will be NO rotation of the pistol/knife when the Ulticlip is used. You might try the back side of a knife blade if you are wearing the pants/belt when taking it off. I found it easier to remove after removing my pants for the day.

I’m thinking for camping, hiking etc. I generally wear nylon camp pants. Most have an integrated belt, so it’s not possible to put on a flashlight in a sheath, or a small sheath knife or multi-tool.

This isn’t really the solution without forming a new Kydex sheath, but it’s worth thinking about,
