Kavanaugh to attend White House event, as elections loom
KOLO-TV ^ | October 8, 2018 | Jill Colvin and Mark Sherman, The Associated Press

New Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh is returning to the White House for a televised appearance Monday with President Donald Trump less than a month before pivotal congressional elections.

Kavanaugh will take part in an entirely ceremonial swearing-in two days after he officially became a member of the high court and following a bitter partisan fight over his nomination. The event is unusual for new justices. Only Samuel Alito and Stephen Breyer participated in a White House event after they had been sworn-in and begun work as a justice, according to the court's records on oath-taking by the current crop of justices.

Kavanaugh, along with his law clerks, already has been at the Supreme Court preparing for his first day on the bench Tuesday when the justices will hear arguments in two cases about longer prison terms for repeat offenders. The new justice's four clerks all are women, the first time that has happened.

The clerks are Kim Jackson, who previously worked for Kavanaugh on the federal appeals court in Washington, Shannon Grammel, Megan Lacy and Sara Nommensen. The latter three all worked for other Republican-nominated judges. Lacy had been working at the White House in support of Kavanaugh's nomination....

Too bad, I was hoping they were going to say that President Trump and Brett were hosting a toga party.

"Toga! Toga! Toga!"

Would it be over the top if they had iced drinks, dipped their fingers into their drinks, a tossed a few sprinkles of ice at each other?

Wouldn’t that be grand though if they were both dressed in togas for the ceremony, with the sounds of beer cans opening and farting noises in the background.

The left will go insane with a dignified ceremony. Their heads would explode if PDJT went Animal House on them.

Maybe they could start a new tradition for Supreme Court confirmation celebrations: the Supreme Court Ice Christening.

If I was Brett Kavanaugh, and had been put through the wringer by the Dems, and liars of the Left, had my family threatened, my reputation attacked, and false allegations lodged against me, I'd be hard-pressed not to want to get revenge against those who bore false witness against me, and use my position on the Supreme Court to get back at them all. That's me. Judge Kavanaugh has a reputation of being fair, but I wouldn't blame him one bit if the temptation became too great not to want to get even with his enemies in future Supreme Court cases he hears.

The Dems played a dangerous game, and lost, so what makes them think that with their hateful shenanigans, they may have possibly turned a once fair Judge, into a roaring lion?

Yes, that's what I'm reading too. As I'm sure you already know, Kavanaugh was officially sworn in right after the Senate vote on Saturday, and will start work with the other SC justices tomorrow. I assume he's in the Supreme Court building right now -- on this Columbus Day holiday -- getting ready with his law clerks. All four of whom are female, btw. ;-)

Great indeed... More Winning!
