The University of Southern Maine has withdrawn an offer for one college credit for students who travel to Washington to protest as Republican Sen. U.S. Susan Collins considers how to vote on the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
USMaine President Glenn Cummings said Wednesday the “pop-up course” was hastily arranged without his or the provost’s knowledge.
The Maine Republican Party shared a Wednesday email in which a university employee says students could receive college credit for taking a bus to Washington, D.C., to demonstrate. The email links to an online form asking students if they’re willing to be arrested....

I’m sure that someone boasts about how unbiased they are.
I had this with Yale University for years. They argued tooth and nail about how unbiased they were, how the integrity of their learning process would be harmed by any bias, blah blah. I flipped them off and Never, ever fell for their bull.
After I left I find that a few years later, they are now admitting what they threatened to fire me for saying - and they are running with it.
News is next. At some point the media will completely take off their mask and just announce what they have denied for decades.
They’re broadly making all the same mistakes they did before the last civil war.
I’ve noticed a lot of similarities.
I have not been able to predict the flashpoint though. We would have flashed over long before this, were now then.

This appears to have been the work of rogue elements at USM. The article notes that the President of USM, Glenn Cummings cancelled the class as soon as they were made aware of it. Although, Glenn is a former democrat state legislator and House Majority leader, he has been fair and balanced in running USM. He has stepped in when other groups were being unfairly treated by faculty or staff.
He is also a very down to earth guy. He greets me warmly whenever we meet and does not have a “I am a University President and don’t have time for you attitude”.

The "president" of this school should be FIRED, for supposedly not knowing what is openly going on and being promoted within his school AT TAXPAYERS EXPENSE.
The residents of the State of Maine should be screaming bloody murder and demanding that this inept "president, along with this radical leftist "professor" be fired from their positions IMMEDIATELY! Along with everyone within this STATE INSTITUTION'S staff involved with actively sponsoring promoting and facilitating this radical event at the taxpayer's expense.
Pres and Provost must fire whomever authorized this, or they must be held accountable.
