The Media and Pollsters Don’t ‘Get’ Trump Voters, and Don’t Care To
DB Daily Update ^ | David Blackmon

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)

But Ellison’s a Democrat, so… – A bunch of c-list celebrities produced a video in support of Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser, Christina Ford. Funny, they did not produce any similar video saying we should all just believe the accuser of DNC Vice Chairman Keith Ellison, Karen Monahan, who actually has 911 calls, photos and other actual evidence to back her story of heinous violence and sexual assault.

Funny how that works.

Ms. Ford deserves a chance to be heard. She’s been heard all week, in fact, and her chance to be heard under oath is Monday. She does not deserve to be believed out of hand and neither does anyone else. These celebrities deserve nothing but our contempt and scorn.

hmmmm…what to do about all this sex abuse by our clergy? Hey, I have an idea! Let’s meet with Bono! – So, Pope Francis, under fire for his failure to do much of anything about the latest rise in rampant sexual abuse among the pedophile-ridden clergy of the Catholic Church, met with Bono in a transparent effort to get a famous third party speaking on his behalf.

The reliable leftist rock star came away from the meeting and did his job just right, telling the media that the Pope was just all “aghast” about the apparent news to him that there’s “trouble, big trouble right here in River City!” No doubt Pope Francis was also “shocked, shocked to discover gambling” going on at Rick’s Cabaret as well.

“You can see the pain in his face,” Bono said, “and I felt he was sincere.” Naturally, Bono also said, he met with the Pope to discuss “the wild beast that is capitalism” and sustainable development, two subjects that the Pope obviously considers to be far more critical than stopping his priests from preying on young boys. No doubt it was a delightful Marxist discussion.

(My apologies to all my Catholic friends, but this story was just too much to take.)

From our “Hey, that’s what the Campaign Update said on Monday” files… – Derek Hunter, writing at Townhall.com, has a really good piece out titled “It’s Time for Republicans to Grow a Pair.” Why yes, yes it is.

This happened to me in 2017, guys. – The Denver Post tells us this morning that more than half of all the calls we get on our cell phones will be junk marketing calls by some point in 2019. Way ahead of you here, folks.

Yes. That’s why he got elected, doofus. – California Governor Jerry Brown complained on Wednesday that President Donald Trump is “sabotaging the world order in many respects.” “Yes, so what’s the problem?” asks literally everyone who voted for Mr. Trump in 2016.

Brown went on to telegraph his approval of an assassination of the President of the United States, saying “something’s got to happen to this guy, because if we don’t get rid of him, he’s going to undermine America and even the world.” But this has become just par for the course among Democrat politicians in this age of Maxine Waters being the ugly face of their Party.

But back to the whole “world order” sabotaging thing, because this is important. In making that statement, Gov. Brown serves as a metaphor for his entire party and for the fake news media. It clearly demonstrates that he still, almost 2 full years after Election Day 2016, has not the slightest clue who the Trump voters are or why they voted for him in such huge numbers. He still does not get the fact that Donald Trump became President precisely because he promised to “sabotage the world order.”

It was that “world order” that Trump voters were in fact rebelling against. The “world order” that had given us a full decade of economic stagnation. The “world order” that had given us horrible trade deals that shipped our plants and blue collar jobs overseas. The “world order” that had resulted in the U.S. military intervening in no fewer than 7 different civil wars across the Middle East and Africa. The “world order” that had given us a gigantic flood of refugees that are in the process of destroying the native cultures of an array of European nations and threaten to do the same to the United States.

This lack of understanding is far from limited to Jerry Brown and his fellow clueless Democrat politicians. It is also the case throughout our fake news media and their polling organizations. The stark reality is that none of these people have a clue who the core Trump voters are, and they don’t really care to know. Far easier than to label them all as hicks, rednecks and racists than to make any effort to understand who they really are.

For the fake news media, the result of this lack of understanding has been an ever-increasing flood of news-faking as their frustration with all of the President’s myriad policy successes causes them to literally lose their minds. These people cannot deal with reality, don’t care to even know what reality is, so they go about inventing an alternate, fantasy-world reality on a daily basis.

For the polling companies, it means that, with few exceptions, they are going to get yet another election woefully wrong and be embarrassed as an industry on Election Day 2018. They simply do not understand that “Trump voters” and “self-identified Republicans” are not remotely a unified class, and they make no effort to understand that reality. Most of them continue to believe that stratifying their samples between Rs and Ds using some turnout model based on the 2012 election is somehow valid, and it isn’t, because “Trump voters” in fact cut across those labels.

Because of this reality, you end up with results like the one we saw in SD 19 on Tuesday, with Republican Pete Flores coming up with a “shocking” win over veteran Democrat pol Pet Gallego in a heavily-Democrat district. That district has a heavy contingent of self-identifying “Democrats” who also happen to be blue-collar workers and “Trump voters.” The same is also true of many of the congressional districts that the pollsters are currently calling “tossups” for the November elections.

My bet is that if these pollsters had bothered to really try to understand who “Trump voters” really are and make some real effort to properly factor them into their polling samples, their polls would not be showing many of these “tossup” districts to be tossups at all. The same is true for senate and governors’ races around the country.

Simply put: If a polling organization doesn’t understand who the voters actually are, how can they possibly produce accurate polls of them? The answer is, they can’t.

Just another day in the polls are worthless America.

That is all.

Good. If they don’t “get” Trump voters, then they’ll never be able to “get to” them.

This is more of a case where they perceive some imaginary nation existing in some urban sphere, and a lot of these journalists have never met regular working-class Americans.

I am often reminded of the 1960s and 1970s where CBS had Charles Kuralt on the road and talking to regular Americans. You could go and have him discuss the average guy on the street, the average shrimp fisherman, the average barber from Peoria, or the average brick-layer. He could describe them in detail....know their politics, and lead you to the vast landscape. CBS doesn’t have anyone like that today....nor does CNN, or MSNBC. They all huddle in some studio and only talk to like-minded people. Same issue with college professors and most politicians who live permanently in DC.

This idea that democrats don’t “get” Trump voters, can’t understand Trump’s appeal, etc., is nonsense.

They understand completely that the reason Trump voters voted for Trump is because they like his policies and they like him.

That is why they never let up on running down Trump, lying about Trump, and lying about his policies.

Liberals don’t understand us, and they also don’t understand themselves.

I know Liberals who think Conservatives want to control every detail of everyone’s life. I tell them, No, Conservatives just want to be left alone. But the Liberals think I’m crazy.

I hear Liberals proposing all sorts of laws and regulations and PC codes for everything. I tell them, you want to control every detail of everyone’s life. They tell me, No, we want people to be free of oppression.

Most Trump voters are white. The media/left (same thing) wants to “get” them, alright. They want you dead and gone, whitey. Non-white Trump voters are considered race traitors, and we have plenty of examples of how such people are treated.

They purposely use false turnout models to keep Democrat hopes up and checks coming in. They will, however, “get” Trump voters again in November.

And vice versa.

As with developing an appreciation for {c}Rap “music”- I’ve no further interest in giving a flying fig about that cultural perspective. What the MSM writes is about as compelling as examining the results of vomit to determine the constituents thereof - I probably *could*, but why, when I know the essence?

Yeah, but do they understand *why*? I think that’s the gist of this article. If the Dems understood why, wouldn’t they tailor their message to that?

How on earth could they NOT understand why, based on the obvious reasons Trump was elected. People vote for presidential candidates based on their like for the candidate and his policies and their dislike for the opponent and his policies. It is very simple.

Democrats don’t tailor their message because that would be their acknowledgment Trump is right, and they cannot abide admitting that. It would be like the sunrise catching a vampire.

Before election in Nov 2016, I was getting polling calls 3-4 times a week.

Since then ZERO....NADA.....NONE.

I am beginning to think that the polling companies are faking everything.

There sure will be a lot of surprised looks on the faces of those who come for the deplorables.

Just saying BATF would need bigger tables

This is a good thing. If they understood real Americans, they would have a better chance of derailing President Trump. As long as they are lost and continue with their failed strategy, we will continue winning.
