Just about everyone remembers where they were when they found out about the attacks on 9/11/01. But too many Americans including too many of the leaders of the Democratic Party have forgotten the collective national pain, the reasons we were attacked, and desire a return to the appeasement that made the terrorists strong.
We now have a President who believes that terrorism must be defeated, a welcome change from the previous eight years as under Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John Kerry, the U.S. government returned to the pre-9/11 mindset of treating terrorist acts as crimes, and the terrorists as criminals who can be rehabilitated. President Trump believes that terrorists must be defeated.
It was seventeen years ago but the vivid memory of driving into Manhattan at six a.m. that day (as I did every day) is still fresh in my mind. For some reason as my car made its way over the bridge leading to the midtown tunnel, I gazed downtown at the two towers of the World Trade Center thinking that it was a particularly beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky. Little did I know that in just a few hours later, that view of the towers would be replaced by an impenetrable black cloud, and America indeed the entire world, would be changed forever.

Leaving Manhattan by foot. It was like a scene out of a Godzilla movie
Never forget.
It is sad that most people have forgotten
September 11, 1683
Jan Sobieski, King of Poland, led his Winged Hussars against the muslim army besieging Vienna, Austria.
Outnumbered, they routed the muslim army and ended the latest threat to western civilization and Christianity from Islam.
That is why the muslims chose that date to attack US.
Lord who grants salvation to kings and dominion to rulers, Whose kingdom is a kingdom spanning the entire universe and all eternities; Who places a road in the sea and a path in the mighty waters may you bless the President, the Vice President, and all the constituted officers of government of this land. May they execute their responsibilities with intelligence, honor, compassion and love for the constitution wonderfully crafted by our founding fathers. May you grant them the understanding that the threat of terrorism still exists, and the knowledge of how to eradicate it from the world you created. May you always bless these United States and provide our leaders with the comprehension of your role in making this republic the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Seriously? Did a San Fran paper actually call the hijackers bastards in such a prominent manner?
NYC has completely forgot and would have a parade for the terrorists if given a chance.
The only ones who have not forgotten this date are the “American” Muslims who are privately hi-fiving each other on the success of the jihadists.
I remember it well ...Was getting ready for work and heard it on the TV, then while watching it I saw the 2nd plane hit tower two. New immediately it was a terrorist attack. Called a friend and we both believed it was Osama Ben Laden.
I’ve been watching videos 9/11 videos since the weekend. Every year I do this and always learn things about that day I didn’t know before.
Most Americans have forgotten.
Sad.
As long as Islamists are entering the country people have forgotten.
I saw a thread earlier today on FR - it contains the last telephone conversation between Tom Burnett and his wife. I can’t imagine the horror; I couldn’t imagine it as I sat 17 years ago watching the whole thing unfold on television:

I remember well. Left work and spent the rest of the day on FreeRepublic and Fox news. It was too much to take in.
I remember it. I also remember how 2 of the hijackers who were informants to the FBI were put up in a hotel by their FBI handlers.
I remember how the head of the FBI tried to cover that up and it only became public knowledge when it was vanished down the memory hole of what was “important.” His name was Robert Mueller.
I remember lots of weird stuff that just did not add up.
It was important to “support our government” back then, though. Just inconceivable that “we” were not the bad guys.
It was “us vs them.” I guess it still is. Just more people today have questions on who REALLY is “them.”
I remember how anyone that mentioned this kind of stuff was faced by a blizzard of invective, accusations of being a conspiracy theorist, and shouted down as a “truther.”
I remember all that, and I still am confused about how to sort out 9/11. I have lots of questions that remain unanswered.
But yeah, I remember.
Do you?
