The escalation of hostility and violence in the United States is becoming undeniable. Over the past couple years alone, there have been politicians calling for increased antagonism toward Trump and his supporters, protesters (sometimes violently) confronting the police and ICE, violent clashes on the streets between Antifa and patriot groups, and many other instances that signify dark times ahead for the US. Almost one third of the nation believes a civil war is imminent. If this worst-case scenario becomes reality, who would have the upper hand?
Many on the right side of the political spectrum will hastily assume that they have the advantage because they have more guns. Republicans absolutely do own more guns, but many Democrats and Independents own guns as well. Will this advantage be enough to definitively win a war? It is hard to say.

Even those who lean democratic

defeat.
This article takes a lot for granted.
Guts and fortitude are what wins battles.
And I don’t see liberals as having either.

To those of you who will be the officers in this next war, don’t overlook disabled people like me who can still help out in many ways.
You cannot have a civil war (with armies and such) unless the chain of command is divided.
It does not matter what the political opinions of lieutenants and captains are, much less the front-line soldiers and Marines they command, if their sources of information are controlled and their commanders are compromised.
If there is a general’s coup, it will be anti-Trump. If there is a colonel’s coup, it will be pro-Trump.
Time will, unfortunately, tell.
I and all my friends are NRA members.
We practice all the time.
But bunches of guys who are good with rifles are not an army. We would not last five minutes against a USMC rifle company.
If there is a war, your 55 million man army will not be fighting “liberals”.

There are millions of veterans that would want to participate.
Maybe we should place a Trump size wall around the major cities and turn them into prisons.
The liberal NYC and New England states would be hurting if Pennsylvania shut down a few interstate highways for a few days. I-80 and I-81 would do it.

Conservatives who think it would be an easy win are fools.

Give me several million hunters with the equivalent of sniper rifles (typical deer rifles) who know the terrain and have the support of the local people any day over a trained military. Time is on the side of the hunter who would be defending their own home territory.
People pull together in time of crisis and respond.
The only way to change things now is by following the recipe in the film V for Vendetta. Ignore its politics, study its process.
