Two California fathers are in critical condition after they were stabbed by their adopted son.
Tom Boulet and Ken Coll were attacked in their Sherman Oaks home at 1 a.m. Tuesday after a reported argument with their son, Matthew Boulet, who had returned home from college.
Law enforcement officials found the couple with multiple stab wounds. They were rushed them to a local hospital and are in critical condition, though KCAL reports they are expected to survive.
Boulet was found inside the house and officers reported he admitted to stabbing of his fathers.
“He was very nonchalant when he said he had stabbed his two fathers and that he suffered a wound while doing so,” Los Angeles police Lt. Mike Kozak said. “He was very calm about it.”
Boulet is reported to have suffered an injury to his hand during the altercation. A pocket knife has been recovered as a potential weapon.
Neighbor Andre Saab said that the idea of a son stabbing his fathers was “shocking” to him.
“You never think about it,” neighbor Andre Saab said. “As a dad, my own son to stab me? Wow.”
Police said they are investigating whether mental illness might have contributed to Boulet stabbing his fathers.
Imagine the shock and heartbreak the fathers felt on hearing that.
The kid probably snapped from the abuse he suffered.
The emotional damage is undoubted.
It’s not hard to imagine what else happened in that home.
Well, you make it abundantly clear that calculating odds and considering which of two possibilities is more likely based on how frequently each occurs is hard for you, heartwood, but don’t attack other Freepers for using math.

Of course, not all adoptees are affected by mental illness, but the incidence is higher. No imputation against you intended.
First time, I have ever responded, to an in your face devil’s advocate... you have no way of knowing the ‘why’ of this incident. Two ‘fathers’, seriously? Their debased relationship was abuse from the get - go.

The relationship is repellant to the son. If it isn’t repellant to you, you are sick or evil. It’s that simple.

I AM repelled by the relationship. I have seen been in the home of two homosexual men who had adopted two boys, and one of the men was mentally, emotionally ill - hysteria, suicide attempts, a terrible environment for children - how did he and his partner ever adopt? Answer: lots and lots of money.
OTOH, I have known two lesbians who adopted and seemed to be doing a reasonably good job, other than not giving their children a mother and a father. My husband has cousins raised by his lesbian aunt and they turned out okay, better than his sister, for instance, who was raised by a mother and father.
In the California case we know none of the particulars except that the men were homosexual and the son stabbed them. He might have been mentally ill, or on drugs; he might have been abused; he might have wanted to make it look like an outsider did it and inherit, any combination of the above.
We don’t know. He was old enough to walk away and make his own life. He chose otherwise.

The sickness here is off the charts. Two deviants vs a real mother and father are in no way manner shape or form comprable. Dragging children into their demented world in order to somehow normalize themselves is massively destructive and selfish.
True. The stabbing probably didn't have anything to do with the guys being gay...but the news will make it seem that way. We may find out later that the son has at least on MAGA hat in his dorm room, or something along that line.

These two men adopted an older child. Who knows what damage this boy had from his early life? He was probably one of the hard to adopt kids. They may have done their best to give him a great home. I have known gay couples who were wonderful parents. Because they were gay is not why he stabbed them, as far as we know. He may have already had RAD, a condition that does not allow real love. Reactive Attachment Disorder. Hard to get over that, and the child with it often tries to harm the adoptive family. They don’t trust anyone, and in their world there is no love or trust.
I will stand corrected if there is any evidence they were molesters but because their orientation is homosexual is no reason to assume they were child rapists. This is very tiresome around here.
These men are fighting for their lives, maybe only because they adopted an older, damaged boy. WHEN NO ONE ELSE WOULD. We had a neighbor who adopted 2 brothers from Russia. The younger one turned out fine. But older boy tried to harm them so many times, then he attacked people at his high school, and he ended up in jail for a long time. And his parents were utterly relieved when he was locked up. You people with all this gay hate would feel bad, maybe say a prayer, if my straight neighbors were stabbed by their adoptive son. Nothing but hate toward these two fathers. Please don’t call yourselves Christians.
Been there, had that problem with one of my kids.
There is a lot of abuse out there, but it might have occurred prior to the adoption.
