I am really trying to figure things out.
I feel like I'm in a roller coaster ride. I'm really confused at this point.
I read many sources of news. I always come back to FR for sanity checks. But, today, I'm just lost. I don't get it.
In the last few years, we've gone from disagreements to literal gaslighting. I read an article, and the article gets things 180 degrees wrong, and there are hundreds of comments replying that anyone disagreeing with it is insane, idiots, moronic, Nazi, racist, mysoginistic, a bot or any other name they can come up with.
I read a document, I see something that makes no sense. I question the "doctrine" and I'm immediately pummelled as if I'm not even human.
Examples:
Reading the recent release of the redacted FISA warrant, I read on page 1 that Carter Page is an agent of the Russian Federation. O.K. I guess they might have reason to see that if they were looking, and thought that would be the right way to approach it. I've seen Carter Page and know full well the Russians tried to recruit him years ago, and called him an idiot and refused to work with him. He then worked with the FBI to bring them down. So, now the claim he was an agent isn't holding up well. Then, I keep reading through and get to page 4. On page 4, I see the statement that he was susceptible to recruitment by the Russians. Ummmm. Excuse me? Is he an agent or a potential recruit? In other words, between page 1 and 4, they managed to discredit themselves. For that, I've been vilified on Twitter for even ASKING.
I go a bit further, and I see them talking about the dossier. I know it was written by Christopher Steele. He didn't actually SEE the things he wrote. He just compiled it (bought some of it from Russian sources, made up most of the rest. Had one fact in the whole thing, that Carter Page actually went to Russia, but the reason and the accusations were wrong). Then I see the piece where it talks about a news article, and lo and behold the article in Yahoo "news" is co-written by Michael Isakoff and Christopher Steele. And that's "proof" that the dossier is valid?
The fury and the rage and the disgusting attacks I got were impossible for even asking about that one.
Today, I was going to the stories about the illegal release of the Cohen tapes that were percipitated by the Gestapo-like raid on his office and seizure of all his tapes and records and then leaking to the press by Mueller's team. First off, I've been called a Nazi so many times for even asking about the legality of a raid on an attorney's office without a crime related to their investigation that I figure at this point, I deserve my own salute. But, I listened to the release of the tape several times last night. Each time I listened to the distraction of the disasterous FISA warrant release, I heard Trump basically telling Cohen to put all payments on the record. Don't pay cash. No, no, no, no. Check. I then read the mainstream press (I decided to hurt my head and go to the WaPo) and see that apparently, Guliani and I were the only ones hearing the same thing. Because they are claiming what I clearly heard was not what I heard.
How can two sides have SUCH abject polar opposite views of what is true or not?
Read “Rules For Radicals” and the Bill Ayers interview that appeared in the 9/11/01 edition (the *early* edition) of the New York Times and you’ll understand.
Keep your eyes open, and your powder dry.
Money money money
Money money money
Its not politics.
Its not a difference in ideals or beliefs.
Its about money.
The Democrat leaders make their fortunes pretending to be political.
The Democrat voters hope the Democrat leaders will steal some money for them.
Sorry, you haven’t been on FR long enough to be vetted.
Well, there are probably more productive things you could be doing with your time.
Check out the 45 Rules for Taking over America document written by the Communist Party and subject to Congressional hearings in 1963. You will see everything there. The Communists are now known as the Democrat Party.

I’ve been arguing with ardent English speaking leftists from all over the world since 2005. I’ve learned that reasoning with them usually doesn’t work. In fact, I kinda chuckle when I see a “new” conservative chimes in on one of these threads with the obvious attitude, “Oh, they’re just forgetting this one thing. Once I bring it up they’ll realize they are wrong.” But we all know that is not how it works.
I just like to use phrases like, “The first one to use ad-hominem has lost the argument.” Or, “opinions vary, thanks for sharing.”
Or, “The first one to get emotional has lost the argument.”
A favorite, “Feminists are so cute when they’re mad.”
Those all, in the right circumstances, can be extremely effective. These people are usually not idiots. They reflect about my post and, maybe after sleeping on it, revise their position. But one thing that is fascinating is that when thy actually try to refrain from using ad-hominem, they find they really have no argument and, sometimes, actually change their opinion.
A lot of us conservatives were once leftists. Many of these people are simply on the same journey.
The rest are destined to become gray ponytails. With age, comes wisdom, but sometimes age comes alone.
you establishment RINO globalist crony capitalist open borders GOPe bushite uniparty neocon !!!!!!!!
There’s a fascinating book written in 1921 titled, “Public Opinion,” by Walter Lippmann that answers your question. It reads like it was written yesterday. You can download it for free at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSVMG_cVFS4
But the short answer is, people look at the same thing but see something entirely different. He gives several examples you’ll instantly understand.
There are people who are paid to come to places like Free Republic and screw with Conservatives.
;)
Carter Page was just being used as an excuse by using old outdated info to frame their reasons for getting a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump Campaign. he was really immaterial. The warrant was the object, he was just the means.
It could have been anybody that had ever had any contact with a Russian org.................................
You have to operate on a couple of basic principles
1) IF you oppose socialism you are the enemy of the left. They will employ any means to discredit you (racist, homophobe etc.
2) EVERYTHING in the media is gaslighting (lying to you to get you to fall in line.)
Once you have idenified these facts, everything else comes into clearer focus.
Sounds like you’re wasting too much time on twitter. It’s almost impossible to persuade a supercilious ingnoramus. Find something more productive to do with your time and try to find more friends and acquaintances who are discriminating, intelligent and knowledgeable. I’m not saying don’t continue your pursuit for the truth. It’s important that you do but it takes effort and eventually you will find trusted source and resources.
Save yourself the aggravation. You will be happier and more content. I promise you.
God is still in control. Nothing is surprising Him nor will it ever.
It’s really quite simple. The frog was contentedly sitting in the hot tub, maybe thinking that it was getting a bit warm, but hey, it was nice and relaxing.
Then, someone (Trump) came along and poked the frog (electorate), and realizing that it was in danger, more or less, or variations on that them, the frog has attempted to jump out of the pot.
Now, on the other hand, you have the vast, hungry multitudes, who were eagerly waiting to devour that frog, once it was good and cooked, and they’re very upset and disappointed that their dinner may escape before the feast.
(Oh, and what a feast it would be!)
So, given that, they are desperately trying to get the frog back in the pot where it belongs, and to punish that evil person who dared suggest that the frog might have a better life available to it.
That’s it, in a nutshell.
Just be aware - if they ever do succeed in their goals, they are going to slam the lid on that pot, and it is going to become a pressure cooker.
All that being said, what you are noting are various aspects of the psy-ops campaign being waged against both the frog, and the person who suggested that it get out of the pot.
Don’t expect their behavior to change. There are people out there (H, for example) who have spent their entire lives, and significant parts of their fortunes to make this come to pass, so that they can achieve their vision of paradise on earth. They will stop at nothing. If words, and propaganda do not succeed, and we will find out in November if that is the case, then more direct modes of action will be pursued.
You can count on it. They are desperate. A strong and free, united America is anathema to their future world vision.
It may be uncomfortable now, but ... don’t get back in the pot.
Revelation 12:12.
