Congratulations! My thoughts as well. We have tolerated insurrection and rebellion too long. This has on;y encouraged them.

We passed that point when the media became the 4th branch of government.

Who or whom can be convicted of treason? Realistically.

In the USA treason has a constitutional meaning, waging war against the United States or giving aid and comfort to those who do. This ain’t that. And Trump could end it anytime he wants by telling Mueller and Rosenstein “You’re fired!”.

In the US, ‘Treason’ is specifically defined in the Constitution:

“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.”

The writers of the Constitution evidently wanted to avoid criminalizing political differences.

The US could have convicted the leaders of the Confederacy of treason, but chose not to do so for political reasons.

Nowadays, since we have not declared war against any country since 1945, it is pretty much impossible to convict anyone of treason. Merely declaring you house an independent republic and holing up with a couple of guns is not considered impressive enough to deserve being called ‘levying war’.

“WHEN IS TREASON... TREASON?”

We’ll never know with Sessions.

This is one topic where one must tread very lightly. Because today the Republicans are in power. And I suppose that if they really wanted to, the Republicans could convict a few Democrats of treason. Then maybe hang one or two.

But someday the Democrats will be back in power. Then you can bet that some Republicans would swing. That’s not the kind of country I’d want to live in.

So I’d say save the label “traitor” for those who overtly do treasonous things. Folks who sell secrets, etc. Those Deep Staters who work to take down Trump, they’re better handled by just firing them.

Old Roman saying: Treason never prospers. Why? If it prospers, none dare call it treason. (Ovid)

I think "sedition" is probably the term you're looking for.

We have been discussing this issue for weeks, literally. It is, frankly, a disgrace and I, for one, am totally 100% fed up. Please read “Killing the Deep State—The Fight to Save President Trump” by Jerome R. Corsi, PhD. Weeks before it became journalistic news, he had already reported the “news” in his book. My God, what will it take to move us from this pathetic “Oh, they don’t really mean it!” to “Gads, they do. Let’s get the indictments moving and get rid of those people who persist in the lies and distortions...Mueller, Comey, The Blond Lying Seditionist who speaks as if she will be the next President. Get them all and throw them in prison. They do not speak for me and they are committing treason as far as I can tell.

It is shameful what is happening. Trump is a fine man with a fine mind and a heart that loves the USA....let’s support him and get these people out of government and into jail. There are plenty of people out here who would love to actually help him in any way they can...lots of PhDs of which I am one and lots of INTJs, smart men and women without advanced degrees but who see Trump for the Honorable Man he is with a fine mind. MAGA!!

There is treasonous behavior and then there is a treasonous crime.

To be charged with a crime of treason requires ‘owing allegiance’. This can only be established legally by oath.

In the context of allegiance, an ‘oath’ is a legal event that puts the oath taker on record and confers an absolute requirement that the oath-taker does not violate the oath taken.

Examples:

* All members of the military
* All members of the DOJ. FBI, DHS and other agencies
* Officeholders who swear allegiance in an oath ceremony.
* All naturalized citizens.

Specific examples:

* James Comey could be charged with Treason as a crime.
* Maxine Watters could be criminally charged with Treason.
* George Soros could be charged with the crime of Treason.

Michael Morre could not be charged with criminal treason, but he could be charged with Sedition or Conspiracy to Overthrow the United States.

Christopher Steele of the bogus dossier fame could not be charged with criminal Treason but he could be charged and extradited from the UK for aiding and abetting a criminal conspiracy.

When Jane Fonda wasn’t hanged for treason forty years ago the concept of treason as a crime was dead.

“WHEN IS TREASON... TREASON?”

There is no such thing with Mueller and Rosenfeinstein at the helm.

People haven’t yet recovered from the Left’s nervous breakdown during the Rosenberg trial and execution. I realized that after Fonda’s little excursion into treason.

The left carries on with impunity -- convincing public opinion that Trump is a dictator, a Hitler... a tyrant that should be stopped by any means.
The Left is merely preaching to it's own delusional choir, and isn't "convincing public opinion" of jack sh-t with respect to President Trump. In fact, the Left's patently obvious—and breathtakingly extreme—detachment from objective reality is steadily driving the People into the MAGA/DTS camp.

This fact will be compellingly demonstrated over the next two election cycles, IMHO, and if it isn't, then I'm absolutely convinced that we're staring civil war straight in the face—the real kind, with copious bloodshed...
