Here’s a shocker. Leftists aren’t all too crazy about riders of the Trump train. Progressive types are known for denying MAGA people real estate transactions. Banning them from their concerts. Attempting to crater their skulls with 2x4s.
Then there’s this. A writer over at salon is recommending you shun all of your Trump-loving friends and family until they repent. Yeah, for reals:
"If you have friends or relatives who support Donald Trump you should confront them. Explain to them that they are complicit with Trump’s cruelty and sadism. Then communicate that you will no longer speak with them, nor will you offer them emotional, financial or other types of support until they denounce Donald Trump and what he represents — and make amends through speech and action. This will not be easy. Doing what is right rarely is. But it is necessary.
Some will protest, saying that you can’t know what is in a person’s heart based on who they vote for. This is untrue. Voting and other types of political behavior are in many ways actions which are based more on emotion than they are reason. As such, a vote for Trump and continued support for him is a clear signal to a person’s deep and sincerely held values and beliefs."
Well, leftism is starting to sound a lot less like a political philosophy and more like a shady cult.
Yes, leftists must shun the “non-believers.” At least until they turn away from their devilish ways and follow the true path. Until they trade their MAGA hats for Che Guevara t-shirts. Replace their stars-and-stripes bumper sticker with a “Coexist” one. Increase their soy intake tenfold.
This is the emerging world of the left, where merely having a different opinion is grounds for the cold shoulder. Even if the opinion-haver is a blood relative.

If I had one of "these" in my family, I would be jumping up and down with joy knowing they wouldn't bother me anymore.
They hate Trump so much they will shun you. Whoopee!
I know. It makes me nervous how these “narc” laws and regulations are written. It’s for “our” safety of course. I don’t go talking about my gun collection, however modest, to outsiders and my family has weapons so there will be no “tit-for-tatism”.
I can only imagine the fear those gun owners who live behind the frontlines(blues states) must feel, knowing that at any time their guns could be taken at any time for the most insincere reasons.
A friend had an 0bama Shrine, too. The shrine is gone, but she still has his picture hanging in her living room. Gawd!
I’m sure she’s waiting for an affordable print of his official portrait - you know, the one where he has six fingers and is sitting on someones un-mowed lawn? LOL!
In the urban portions of blue states, the political culture dictates that “those who own guns are dangerous people and should be shunned for your own safety.”
Don’t let your children play with kids whose Dad owns guns. Especially don’t go into their house.

My large Wisconsin trump loving family was chastised by a nephew and his wife who had moved to boston.

Sometimes, in the middle of the night, I secretly wish that the GOP/RNC would be as devious as those on the Loony Left. They always play both ends against the middle.

If any of my family members “confronted” me with such bs, I’d just tell them that they are nuts, without common sense.
There needs to be more education about the benefits of GENERATION-SKIPPING TRUSTS... You don’t have to give your assets to liberal children if you don’t want to. And maybe there’s a 50-50 chance that the children of liberal idiots might smarten up!
I have been blacklisted since 1979 for my political views (anti-communist in that era) by the Canadian public service unions and have been shunned by Canadian liberals generally speaking even longer than that. So this is nothing new to me, it is a net positive because it eliminates a lot of pointless small talk.
