Robert De Niro got a standing ovation at the Tony Awards for shouting F Trump from the stage to the crowd at Radio City Music Hall. But viewers at home didnt hear the expletive thanks to the 10-second delay CBS had on the live telecast and the quick reflexes of a CBS Program Practices executive monitoring the show back at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York.
CBS confirmed that De Niro went off script in his remarks as he took the stage to introduce Bruce Springsteens performance on the Tony telecast. The CBS Program Practices executive monitoring the show has the ability to push a delete button to drop audio entirely from the telecast.
Mr. De Niros comments were unscripted and unexpected. The offensive language was deleted from the broadcast, CBS said in a statement....

Who is Robert De Niro? And why should we care what he says?

Didnt know he was a high voltage electrical worker. Those shoes have to be rated in the hundred thousand volt range.
I admit that I am an insecure male in todays wild, wild world but a concealed .357 magnum covers most of my ‘short’comings very well.

I would suggest Di Niro be deleted, but he is the gift that keeps on giving...reminding all of us why we need to boycott Hollyweird and the Liberal Left.

"..There is a dinner theater in Greensboro, North Carolina that back in the Sixties or so De Niro was a waiter/actor at..""The Barn Dinner Theater" out near the airport, maybe? It's the only dinner theater I'm familiar with in the area. And it was around forever, it seems. d:^)

I would never watch self-absorbed hollywood types giving each other awards. Especially as they swear at Trump who is now in Singapore trying to get Kim Jong Un to give up his nuclear aspirations.

It was a terrific show, and Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles did a great job hosting -- and this is the story, not the winners or the show itself, but this?

This kind of stuff just makes actors look like the intellectually challenged people most of them are. Studies have shown that the average person is not swayed by what celebrities say about politics.

Yep. Similar to news reporters readers when breaking news happens. They show their lack of intelligence. Actors just play a role and read their lines. Too bad about DeNiro. I used to like his work.

For an actor who seems to portray the same character from film to film, its not surprising he constantly repeats the same comments about the President.
