After a year of intense controversy concerning player protests during the National Anthem, the NFL finally decided to act. At the spring NFL owners meeting this week, a decision was made to require players to “stand and show respect” during the National Anthem if they are on the playing field. Otherwise, players will be given the option to remain in the locker room. If players or club personnel on the field show disrespect during the National Anthem by not standing, their team will be fined by the NFL.

Heard somewhere on tv news that other protests are being bandied about such as protestors would possibly wear black gloves doing black power sign - and some such. This ain’t over.
Not all, but I suspect many of the owners don’t love America as well. Respect for flag rules instituted only to try to dupe the money machine into coming back.

Watch the teenage tool, Hogg, to start and muscle his way into a leadership role to head the Sunday protests. And you thought you hated him now! Wait until Sunday’s in the Fall.
Football is NOTHING
BUT a hobby for them.
A hobby subsidized by the public.
A hobby that is NOTHING but a status symbol for them.
Something to wave under the noses of other wealthy people.
Something that gets them invited to the right parties.
A tool to be used to influence their other business interests.
And ultimately, it sets them up socially, as pseudo prince's over the common rabble.
They don't care one iota for the fans, or their opinions.
Unless it ACTUALLY starts to COST them.
The ONLY way the NFL or any professional sports entity will change, is if they begin to BLEED money.
Until then, these are just minor inconveniences.
I dropped the NFL last season.
Never missed it.

I did the same... I have replaced the time spent watching sports with family activities, fishing, improving myself and it is amazing how much more money I have in my bank account at the end of the month if I am not out somewhere eating and drinking during the big game!
