No, but heaping US sanctions on Russia and Russians “oligarchs” and other individuals seems to be close to acts of war and destined to induce a counter- punch at some point.

Been doing so since the 30s. Democrat Senator Ted Kennedy actively sought Soviet help against Reagan in the 84 campaign. Who knows what other help the dims have sought.

Russia has been trying to subvert the US since Lenin killed the Czar and took over.

There is nothing Russia....or any other country for that matter...can do that would cause more damage to the US than our own home grown democrats.

The democrats are more of a threat to us than the Russians are.

The Russians rejected communism; the idiot dems still think it’s a SWELL idea.

Just sayin’.

Is Russia Really Trying To Subvert US Democracy?

Why not? We are trying to subvert them. Its what CIA is supposed to do.

I agree with this author. We have far more to fear with our FBI, our DOJ, our DNC, our Clinton crime family foundation, and other government agencies interfering and intervening in a free election process than we ever have to fear with Russian involvement.

Furthermore I think the Russians attempted to involve themselves in our election for legitimate purposes. They needed to make sure that Clinton did not win which would then lead to increased hostilities between the US and Russia, possibly even leading to war

All I know is that based on what I have seen over the last 55+ years, it appears that Jefferson & others are correct.

Our failure as a country will be due to causes from within.

I believe; other than with certain middle eastern players; most countries, in particular Russia & China, that MSM is trying to portray them as aggressively seeking to destroy U.S.. Is not accurate, they are actually just standing on the side watching the U.S. self destruct, at the most adding a minor stick or two to the fire.

Premise being; “why waste time and energy to just have more people to take care of.”

Both of the so called Communist countries appear to have accepted a historically proven axiom;

‘productivity increases when the producers are allowed to keep more of what they produce to satisfy their perceived personal ‘needs/wants’. And keep this in mind, as E. Bernays indicated, it is all about perceptions.

Granted these countries are not perfect, which country is?

Other than USA, and depending on how you perceive it, most all other countries in the world have several hundreds, if not thousands of generations, of social development. We do not.

This means that the social fabric of the United States is not the same as the Europeans, for whatever reasons our ancestors did not like life in Europe (and other places)and therefore left. Our ancestors took a leap that most others would not.

Quickly, I do not want to get into to the ‘good and bad’ of the migrations, just accept that fact that humans have historically treated each other pretty good and pretty bad.

I personally believe that a great deal of the early settlers of the Americas were made up of many of what today are known as “movers and shakers”. People who were not content with ‘lords’ or being in second place.

To rapidly summarize, the settlement of N. America by Europeans is most easily described as being accomplished by those seeking liberty/freedom in one flavor or another for one or more reasons.

Keep this in mind, many of the founders were actually in love with the old ways, but liked being in the Colonies for the freedoms and independence. Unfortunately many of the original founders were no different than those they wished to usurp.

(with the possible exception of prisoners/slaves, these issues in themselves are interesting)

Conclusion; it is possible that certain groups (mostly liberal) are fear mongering for a variety of reasons all generally centered around obtaining power and control.

There are many in Washington DC that believe, if they keep you living in fear and uncertainty, you will continue to pray to the Fairy Gov. Mother.

Good article but I don't buy into all the Russia hysteria. I think this is about a click farm trying to make money profiling and spying on Americans just like Google and Facebook.

Big data is BIG money!

We do it all the time and suddenly we whine when someone starts doing it to us?

Our Constitutional Republic is not so weak that Russian trolls posting on social media “threaten to undermined it”

The only REAL reason for the Muller and the Russian Collusion clown show is Dems lost an election and are trying to revers the result by fraud.

It's not really in Russia's interest to undermine our democracy. Because democracy provides checks and balances. When you think about the alternatives to democracy, all of them would be more dangerous for Russia. It may be in Russia's interest to:

So minor subversious may be in Russia's interest but they all carry risks to Russia that someone assumes power in America that is far worse than a democracy.
