Someday a non-political frog, one who looks like President Donald Trump and who is totally unrelated to government, will set all Facebook frogs free.
Millennial pipsqueak Mark Zuckerberg may have done us all an unintended favor at Tuesdays and Wednesdays Congress performance.
Anyone who watched it knows exactly where the masses stand in this perilous moment in time: millions of frogs in social medias boiling cauldron of water getting uncomfortably hot, but not quite yet knowing its time to jump out.
But he did say the users are willing accomplices in giving up their private data when they decide to join FB. That is what I agree with.
Whether one is signed up for Facebook or not is somewhat irrelevant. Do a quick search on the phrase "shadow profile" and then say "WTF?"
Facebook and Google are tips of icebergs. Breaking them up would be like chopping up bindweed. (Gardeners will know what I'm talking about.) The parts would be just as bad. For a list of mini-Facebook-wannabes that are trying to mess with you, follow the following procedure:
Install uBlock Origin.
Visit several "modern" websites.
At each one, click on the uBlock Origin icon to see which blacklisted domains it's blocking.
Say "WTF?" one more time.
and the clinton foundation..
Is uBlock Origin a stand alone, or a plug-in for your browser of choice? Thanks for the tip.
Seriously, Rush probably has all the tech experience he can handle wrestling with those awful hearing aids. I do give him a lot space fir error on that count. Remember how he loved music and pushed some Manstein album at Christmas time? Everything is distorted now.
Could be true about delete....but this guy sells his product by the “numbers” he’s signed up.
Eliminating “eyes” to look at the ads will make it less saleable.
Got it. Thanks, always.
I would have to sign up for Facebook before I can get out of Facebook.
Glad to hear you did not succumb.
It is an extension that can be installed in Firefox, Chrome, and most if not all of the variations on these. uBlock Origin is a general blacklist-based content blocker, which also functions as an improved replacement for ad blockers. When installing it, I just leave all of its many options and features at the default.
On a related note, some privacy experts recommend that, since Google is as bad as Facebook or worse, people should also stay away from Google services and products like Chrome, Android and Gmail. Using Google services like Translate and YouTube seems to be reasonably safe if a number of precautions are taken, like using content blockers. When I recently watched a six-hour Youtube video of a conference, uBlock Origin racked up a count of almost 2,000 things that it blocked from YouTube. uBlock Origin is pretty good at avoiding "false positives" and seldom if ever interferes with normal operation of a website.
Gab totally confused me. I’m looking at MeWe, but unlike FR, you have to sign up before browsing.
I am more concerned with the censorship, than the tracking.
Gab is opposite of Twitter. Following looks like unfollowing, it is weird. Not very detailed, or interested in your info....mostly comments on news and daily popular stuff. Never heard of MeWe.
I had hundreds of old photos from my short time in the Army. I posted them to a page on Facebook just in case someone likes looking at WAC basic training. I figure they will last forever now.
I hear you. LOL! Love your pictures and I havent even seen them!
I once made a comment in a gathering of friends and some other folks I barely knew that “I would sooner pass through a needle’s eye than have a Facebook page.”
Some of the folks I barely knew dismissed me as stuffy and old-fashioned. As for my friends, they know that I consider being called stuffy and old-fashioned the very pinnacle of praise.
The Eagles nailed it in 'Hotel California:'
What you said might as well be in a foreign language.
Thanks snarkpup. I will remove AdBlock and install uBlock Origin on Firefox tonight.
I don't know of any other form of advertising that is as effective ( regardless of the cost for the advertising)... and... Facebook is **free** for the starving artist and crafter to use.
Also....It is especially effective to educating others about conservative viewpoints. And...It is free to the poster. It reaches liberal leaning friends and family who would **never** visit a conservative website.
If there were another social media that was as effective, I know for certain that my artist and crafter friends would be using it.
Damn...Zuckerface is irritating with is Marxist blocking and shadow banning.
