FBI insiders on Monday reacted with a collective bewilderment after the office of Trump attorney Michael Cohen was raided.
While not minimizing potential problems for Cohen in what appears to be a bank fraud case and possibly election related, FBI veterans reacted with a general disappointment toward FBI Director Christopher Wrays leadership.
Wray was supposed to break up the nonsense in New York or at least he was expected to try, one FBI insider said. Looks like business as usual.
One longtime veteran said the FBIs action on Monday will only harm the Bureaus embattled reputation further.
America is looking at this and wondering how the Justice Department can hassle anyone in New York without first looking at the Clinton Foundation, the insider said. That is certainly a legitimate concern. This makes the FBI look worse today.
Why hasnt the FBI raided the Clinton Foundations New York City offices?
Has Cohen illegally usurped and laundered hundreds of millions of dollars like the Clinton Foundation? Perhaps even billions.
Hardly.
I think Americans just want a level playing field, one FBI agent said. That is not happening. The NY field office was involved with the Hillary email investigation and she walked on that.
This is the overall point of hypocrisy: How can the FBI raid a Michael Cohen until it raids a Bill Clinton, a Hillary Clinton, a Clinton Foundation?
And how are Americans supposed to trust the FBI until all lawbreakers are treated equally because in 2018, they certainly are not. Look at Andrew McCabe and his wife. Look at Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. Look at the hundreds of stories uncovering FBI corruption in True Pundit alone.
Did Cohen send thousands of classified and top secret emails to other recipients while maintaining a rogue government server in his basement?
Hardly.
The frustration of FBI veterans is simple to decipher. It was the New York FBI who quickly grabbed Anthony Weiners laptop with a warrant to lock down its contents in what, at the time, was considered lightening speed by FBI standards.
Then-U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara helped expedite that to make sure the contents of the laptop didnt leak and embarrass Hillary Clinton of Huma Abedin. And also ensure enough of the contents were leaked to put Weiner in a federal prison for years to think about the time he threatened to go public with the contents to expose Hillary Clinton. See how that worked out? Weiner went to jail, Hillary and her foundation walked away unscathed.
All courtesy of the New York FBI and Justice Department. And now perhaps you can understand why FBI insiders are frustrated.
America is watching too. And equally frustrated. At least the folks who know the difference between law and order and believe it is the thread that holds the country together and from chaos.
Unless the FBI wants to keep pulling the thread loose
The FBI is completely corrupted.
If there were any decent people there, some would have resigned in disgust by now.
It was a message.
Great hire!!
I smell P. Bharara and friends of McCabe at the bottom of this.
Coup in progress so dont stand in the way. Cohen probably said on his mortgage app the money was for something other than hush money. Walla false statement. His attorney should learn one word: materiality. He did not default on the note so immaterial. Next up the will charge election law violation. He may not avoid that one but aside from that a big nothing.
I agree...but then again I’ve thought they corrupt for a long time. From J. Edgar Hoover on down. The only thing they had going for them in the public eye was Ephraim Zimblist Jr. as Agent Lewis Erskine. The FBI that show portrayed never existed.
The raid was orchestrated by people appointed by the President.
Possible straw that broke the camel’s back?
Until Trump cleans house nothing will change. If Sessions cannot do it, he needs to gracefully resign and let Trump appoint someone ready and willing to do the job of AG.
A year ago, I proposed cutting the FBI’s budget by half, as a collective punishment to the organization and above all, a future warning to more potential deep-state gestapo.
Is this raid more of that 3D chess stuff that Trumpbots and Sessionsbots talk about or just a case of being had?
Drain the swamp.

Not a good idea
Guess who the media will blame when the FBI misses a terror attack?
“All courtesy of the New York FBI and Justice Department. And now perhaps you can understand why FBI insiders are frustrated.”
Too bad for them but for the rest of our lifetimes and beyond the irreparably stained FBI will be considered a very dangerous and unfunny joke.
Every single day we are given more and more reasons to just ignore the law and do as we wish - given that those in power ignore the clear wrongdoings of each other, and ignore the Constitutional protections that all of us “little people” are supposed to have. Two standards of justice = NO standard of justice.
Now it just seems like avoiding getting caught is what is important.
So, how many clients will have their protected information “looked at” in the course of the “investigation”?
“The frustration of FBI veterans is simple to decipipher.”
But not frustrated enough to go public.
The silence of the rank and file makes them accomplices.
I currently see only one way to fix this and start the process of restoring Truth, Justice and Liberty. If a few loudmouths on the Radio began preaching Jury Nullification for ALL CASES Involving the FBI, and constantly hammer home the point that they are all CORRUPT LIAR’S and should Never be believed or trusted in ANY COURT OF LAW, by the second or third acquittal or hung jury, it will start to change.
Rush and Hannity could Start and Finish this job and it will work, somewhat radical yes, but it will work.
The FBI misses every terror attack.
