President Trump’s new national security advisor is reportedly planning major staffing changes at the National Security Council.
Sources close to the situation told Foreign Policy that John Bolton is preparing to “clean house” and remove nearly all of the political appointees brought in by his predecessor.
“Bolton can and will clean house,” one former White House official told Foreign Policy.
Another former official said that any National Security Council officials appointed under former President Obama “should start packing their shit.”
Foreign Policy reported that Bolton is planning to remove dozens of current officials, with a focus on those who have been “disloyal” to the president.

JMO, but as much as I dislike the budget deal, I’m getting the impression perhaps Mr. Trump is looking at a larger picture. Perhaps the analogy is “Real engineers ship stuff.”
Bear in mind it takes any President time to get up to speed on just how to get things accomplished. Given the continuous drumbeat of negativity surrounding him, I view it as possible Mr. Trump simply wanted the d$%m discussion finished, so he could move on to other items.
Again, I don’t agree with the budget deal. But I understand why it happened. And I also think Mr. Trump is just now learning how treacherous the swamp can become.
If Obama had wanted Pelosi out as Speaker she would have been gone in a heartbeat.

1. Trump calls Putin to congratulate him on his victory.
2. Trump was advised that he shouldn't do it.
