President Trump’s new national security advisor is reportedly planning major staffing changes at the National Security Council.

Sources close to the situation told Foreign Policy that John Bolton is preparing to “clean house” and remove nearly all of the political appointees brought in by his predecessor.

“Bolton can and will clean house,” one former White House official told Foreign Policy.

Another former official said that any National Security Council officials appointed under former President Obama “should start packing their shit.”

Foreign Policy reported that Bolton is planning to remove dozens of current officials, with a focus on those who have been “disloyal” to the president.

Actually, this article does not indicate any current WH sources, so there may be no “leaking” here. It cites “former” officials. But, we are all sick of anonymous sourcing which can allow churnalists to say anything they please.

Reports were that McMaster fired most all the Trump supporters in WH national security posts and kept the Obama loyalists.
I guess Bolton will have a lot of firing and hiring to do.

Some good question there, but one is idiotic (no offense). LOL.

Trump had no choice but to hire a bunch of Swamp-dwellers when he got to Washington. Because he wasn't a career politician, it's not like he had a close circle of associates who were capable of filling cabinet posts.

Trump can't "force out" McConnell and Ryan. They answer to their constituents and to their respective party members in Congress. We don't have an imperial president in this country. If anything (as we saw yesterday), HE answers to THEM.

The house cleaning should have happened 14-months ago.

Trump should have done that across the Executive Branch more than a year ago. Then something like this spending bill would have never come to him as it did if he had established himself as THE President.

Where's all that vaunted toughness, that fearlessness Mr. Trump?
He sure sounded like a wimp when he announced he was signing that obscene budget. "But I'm not doing this next year." Wah, wah, wah.

“...about McMaster...”

Thanks for that link; I always wondered why DJT ever appointed him in the first place.

I don’t play chess. I would but no one in my group will oblige. If I did I would know better what I already know. You cannot remove a bishop from your opponent without serious consequences.

We assume the opposition is not good at this. That they do not passionately want to win this. That they don’t seriously, to the point of ruining everything, want Trump out

I do read and teach Shakespeare. We underestimate treachery because the literature and film we study is lame when we are capable of understanding real drama.

We’re looking at it. We expect Trump to make certain moves that he can’t make without very bad things happening. We don’t know the threats he faces. Why don’t we assume the threats are way worse than what we see.

I expect that he is very aware of all these enemies within. He has to get to know what’s going on before making moves.

McMaster hired a hard core former Susan Rice employee and Obama bot as his personal secretary and they wonder why there were leaks .
McMaster fired all the Trump loyalist within weeks of his arrival .

Why McMaster stayed this long is the question .
He was Dem Obama plant .

Stop sounding like a little whiney whelp. You sound like a typical leftist republican, you actually believe that a President can force out of office a Speaker of the House and a Senate Majority Leader? You’re obviously to stupid to be a conservative or a Les Deplorable.

That was a great American Thinker article, thanks for posting it. I do not understand this. I don’t.

When a new administration comes in, the others from the old administration should expect to be fired. There are always people who will stay on, but some people are worthy and desirable in that aspect.

Professional. Highly compentent. Non-ideological.

Not political hacks. There should be a blanket firing projected for everyone, then you have skilled people who can determine who those professional, highly competent, non-ideological people are, and approach them to stay on.

I hope so.
I’ll just wait and see.
Sometimes priorities change once your ‘Big Goal’ becomes your day job. Plus, the most important changes cannot happen unless that person has enough support at that time.
We just saw evidence of this with the new budget.

Aren’t we supposed to be against Bolton because he once worked for Dubya?

I opposed Bolton for this position because he's a neocon warmonger...but he has no ties to the Obama administration and if he's gonna clean house that's an added plus.

I'd really like to see KT McFarland, whom the President likes and trusts, get her old NSC job back.

I have no doubt that McMaster wrote it, my only question is, did HE leak it!

Many are career employees assigned to the NSC from other government agencies. They won’t be fired, but rather, reassigned back to their parent agencies.

I am really glad to see McMaster out. Putting him in place might have been a desired part of WH evolution, Trump getting rid of some hangers-on but wanting to keep their loyalty. More likely that putting him in was just a mistake. Complicated business, lots going on.

The way I see it, leaks were small trouble compared with the other land-mines these people were laying. And I don;t mean agianst Trump, I mean against the larger batter for the people to regain control of their government.
