We need a new word to describe extreme disappointment
President Trump will make this a positive.
It will take time but he can do it.
Wrong. We WILL turn it all over to the anti-American leftists, and let it go to hell. It's the only way we have ANY chance of getting our Country back. Voting doesn't work any longer.
Disappointed? Yes. I would have preferred a veto.
Sometimes you don’t get the best deal but the best
you can get. The party leadership has really been
letting the people down, yes, that’s US.
This thread is bad enough, but look...
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3641906/posts
There is another thread with piss and moan Freepers ready to impeach Trump.
WTH has happened to this place???
Well, bye.
You are an example of why conservatives lose in the long run. You are a quitter. You think you win one election and everything should change. Liberals don’t quit. They keep pushing their agenda, knowing that you will quit. Reversing the crap from the last 20 years won’t happen in one year. With conservatives like you, it won’t ever happen. You have a choice where you raise your voice, where you spend your money, where you devote your time. You chose to just quit.
You don’t stick a knife in everything you ran on by signing a budget like this and then expect voters to take you seriously next time you run on “draining the swamp”
He just willingly dived right into the swamp. This was a time for courage and he went wobbly instead. He has no allies now. Both the GOP-E and the Dems will willingly impeach him as soon as Dems take control of Congress. He has no allies to cover his back now.
Reward your enemies and betray your friends is not a plan for poltical success. The whole reason he won election was people were sick of this DC poltical garbage.
Too bad, sorry you feel that way.
The Republican Party has just committed suicide.
> What would have been the end game, overriding his veto? <
A Trump veto would have been a conservative win either way. If the veto was overridden, then Congress would have owned this pork-fest. If the veto was not overridden, then Congress would have had to go back, and try again.
The left doesn’t want President Pence.
Great plan. Remember how well that worked in the Soviet Union?
No they didn’t. They raised the allocation for funding the congress. For the house, the increase was only 1%, less than inflation. For the Senate it was higher, but for valid reasons, improvements to financial control, data security and restoration of old facilities.
This is gonna be The Official Omnibus Opus Thread?
No one invited the viking kittehs. Do I need to put out the call?
Ditto.
You should have been there when Nixon resigned.
“Why would the Dems impeach Trump now? He’s giving them everything they want!”
Because they are Democrats. Nixon gave them the EPA, NPR, PBS, detente with Russia, ended the gold standard, kissed China’s ass, nominated the guy who wrote Roe vs Wade to the Supreme Court, and put the period on it with the 55 mph speed limit.
A better lib than Humphrey, but they still ran him.
Your nonsense is noted. Still ain't gonna change my mind. You like being bent over by the GOP. I get that. A lot of us don't like it, and won't take it anymore.
> You dont stick a knife in everything you ran on by signing a budget like this and then expect voters to take you seriously next time you run on draining the swamp <
Maybe Trump was right in signing this mess of a bill, just to save the military spending. Nevertheless, what you just said there is correct. The phrase draining the swamp has just lost its punch.
The Republican party sent Trump the bill.
