Man gets Backlashes on how to Protect yourself

From an Active Shooter Scenario We obviously have a problem in the United States with school shootings. There is no easy answer but easy for many to point fingers at the opposition for the cause, usually after the facts.

Whats important in the school settings is to provide protection of our children. This man on Facebook offered some protection tips that he thinks might help.

In his video on Facebook he suggests using textbooks already inside a student backpack can offer some protection. He goes on to demonstrate with various calibers of firearms showing that with 3 normal size textbooks, its possible to stop some of the bullets.

Unfortunately, there are many negative comments of this good citizen with good intention. People seem to be insulted by the video, but this man and no one else is claiming this will save everyone’s life.

Everyone is forgetting that this person is only offering to use the available resource to help protect the student. Anyone that know guns will understand its better to have something than nothing for protection. Another to note is of course we’re not going to give our child a full body Kevlar suit to wear to school.

Lets be forgiving for this guy who's only intention was to help people by showing people that a couple books might be able to save a life in this situation yet people jump to social media and are bashing him for being an idiot. See the full video of protecting student here. What do you all think?

A large textbook in the belt can protect against knife thrusts to the abdomen.

Social media is full of vicious psychopaths. Best to avoid it.

I recently ran a similar test out of curiosity. A standard thickness math textbook (obsolete 450-page book on statistics) will stop a .357 or even a .44 magnum. With both calibers, I put two rounds in overlapping holes from a distance of 15 yards, and they cracked the back cover but didn’t go through. In both cases I suspected that a third shot in the same location would penetrate but with very little energy remaining. It’s worth knowing that sort of detail, just in case. I’d rather be armed and not get shot at, but the pansy left doesn’t always permit that option.

No good deed goes unpunished by the left.

He has a great idea.

This idea is easier to accomplish than having our kids strap a Liberal to their body during an active shooter event. That’s too bad, too. The books are far more useful than a Liberal.

I know some kids who shoot their books to celebrate the end of the school year. .22 LR stops in the middle. .38Spl gets through but loses most of its energy. .270 whips through with no trouble and shocks the pages, turning them into tiny confetti.

Liberals are bulky, noisy, and smell bad. I’ll stick with math books.

I’m surprised. My math book (450 pages) stopped even a .44 magnum. These must be smaller books. [Note: I didn’t even try with a rifle - we know what would happen.]

Yeah, right. Next he’ll be suggesting that we provide all students with books.
