Maybe Ill say something that someone might dislike, but thats the way I see it, Putin said in an interview for the documentary Valaam, an excerpt of which was broadcast on Russia 1. First of all, faith has always accompanied us, becoming stronger every time our country, our people, have been through hard times.
There were those years of militant atheism when priests were eradicated, churches destroyed, but at the same time a new religion was being created. Communist ideology is very similar to Christianity, in fact: freedom, equality, brotherhood, justice everything is laid out in the Holy Scripture, its all there. And the code of the builder of communism? This is sublimation, its basically just an excerpt from the Bible, nothing new was invented.
Putin went further by comparing the Communists attitude to the Bolshevik leader Lenin to the veneration of saints in Christianity. Look, Lenin was put in a mausoleum. How is this different from the relics of saints for Orthodox Christians and just for Christians? When they say that theres no such tradition in Christianity, well, how come, go to Athos and take a look, there are relics of the saints there, and we have holy relics here, Putin concluded.
After Lenin died in 1924, his body was embalmed and put on display in a mausoleum in Red Square, Moscow.
Putins words were music to the ears of Communist Party members. I think these words of the president very effectively and reasonably smooth out the acute angles around the theme of the mausoleum, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Ivan Melnikov said...
Earlier this year, Gennadiy Zyuganov, the head of the Russian Communist Party, said Putin had promised him that as long as he remains president, Lenins body would remain in the mausoleum in Red Square.

Pius IX was Pope when the Manifesto came out. Not too much like Francis in his outlook, or so it looks to me from a study of his 31 years in the office.
How is abolishing the family a copy of Christianity? Same goes with private property.
A lot of heresies don’t actually pretend to be part of the old religion. Ba’hai don’t consider themselves Muslim, etc.
And communism is not a religion, overtly. But neither (arguably) is Confucianism.
Like most things human taxonomy fails in the swamps of complication and definitional traps.
To paraphrase another false religion- "There is no God! And Lenin is his prophet!"
I’ve always thought the maintenance of human relics rather ghoulish.
Its not a copy, as such, but as in Satanism, a corruption, a sort-of twisted image.
Note that, for instance, Chernyshevsky (great influence on Lenin) required that the proper revolutionary be like a monk (the model being Orthodox monks), dedicated to the revolution at cost of all family, all self interest.
The Communist revolution is the most radical rupture with traditional property relations; no wonder that its development involved the most radical rupture with traditional ideas.Therein is a disavowal of #&147;traditional ideas. That cannot be considered a heresy of an existing idea.
A very great deal of communist writing, Lenins for instance, is chock full of religious concepts and analogies.
I’ve read a lot of Lenin’s writings, and I do not find anything resembling any religion in there, least of all Christianity. One thing that is particularly areligious and antireligious is his doctrine of hate.
Take that as you will.
I believe atheism is as much a religious concept as any religion, based on a faith in an unprovable premise.
There is atheism without communism.
But communisms goals are indeed “religious”.
Putin Ping!
Invert his doctrine of hate, and what do you get?
You have to read a lot of this stuff as in a mirror, like the symbolism of a Black Mass.
“Russia sure accepts a lot of Muslim workers visa-free.”
Probably minor compared to its already large native Muslim population. A “Muslim problem” that Putin always has to take into account.
“Yes but Putin has convinced conservatives of his anti-gay agenda?”
They were comparing Putin to Obama. Putin wouldn’t have impressed them if we weren’t saddled with a maybe gay president.
That’s like calling Satan the greatest Christian that ever existed. Inversions of entire religions’ doctrines are not “heresies”.
And Trump outclasses Putin in EVERY. SINGLE. WAY. :)
You are welcome to your definition.
I dont agree; a heresy can be any derivation of a base religion, no matter what is changed, including its purpose.
We said at the beginning of this foreword that Marxism cannot he conceived without atheism. We would add here that atheism without Marxism is incomplete and inconsistent. The communists do not take that notion for granted.
Foreword to Lenins Religion
From a Marxist viewpoint, an atheistic mind is already three-fourths conquered.A mere heresy of an existing religion makes its holders still think they are part of whatever religion it claims to be a tenet of. Communism makes no such claim.
The Naked Communist, chapter 12
Guess that resolves the debate over whether Putin is a communist or a christian
