A lot of heresies don’t actually pretend to be part of the old religion. Ba’hai don’t consider themselves Muslim, etc.
And communism is not a religion, overtly. But neither (arguably) is Confucianism.
Like most things human taxonomy fails in the swamps of complication and definitional traps.

These are still false comparisons. Bahai is not atheism and is not set out to abolish Islam and other religions. Not to mention that there are many isms that are also not religions, but none of them are specifically atheistic and specifically have destroying all religion and competing ideologies as their goal.
The Communist revolution is the most radical rupture with traditional property relations; no wonder that its development involved the most radical rupture with traditional ideas.
Therein is a disavowal of #&147;traditional ideas. That cannot be considered a heresy of an existing idea.
