I have caused much consternation among many here and I want to apologize.
To those I have wrongly insinuated about donations, I give a sincere and heartfelt apology - without you and others like you, FR would not be able to stay on line.
To those that have seen my rantings, but also cannot afford to donate, I apologize for any bad feeling it may have caused. You have a special place in my heart for being conservatives when it might be easier to jump on the gravy train and decide that "liberalism" is the way to go - you have my utmost respect.
To those who fit any of my accusations (able to donate but make personal decisions to not do so), I also apologize, if for no other reason, because I have diverted attention from the real issues that FR is here for.
I pledge that, once I post this, I will never again get on anyone's case by using donations as a part of my argument. This is the last time I will post this link:
and have just deleted it from the easy access document I had stored it in.
This is the last time I will "encourage" anyone to donate to FR as I know my personal efforts cause more angst than any good they were intended to do.
I won't ask for forgiveness as this is not my reason for doing this. I will simply say I love what FR stands for and I will put my fears for her well-being to rest as best I can.
If I ever break this pledge, I will keep supporting FR but will stop posting.

We all have our issues here at FR that causes friction.
For you it may be donations. For HG - bloggers. For me - well, make a list!
Do what I (try to) do. Ignore the impulse to react. Walk away from the computer. Go take a literal walk and clear your mind. Think of something helpful and constructive to post instead. Whatever it takes.

Hey us Freepers are a passionate crowd. Part of what I love about this place. I for one don’t find asking for donations from those who can in a respectful fashion to be at all offensive. You’re good. (For the record, I donate when I can and don’t when I can’t.)
I guess if you’re going to be passionate about something FreeRepublic is as good as any (and better than most!)
Just remember some people choose not to make their donations public, in accordance with the standard FR option.

I have not been bothered by any posts from you, that I can recall (leaving room for A CHANCE that you offended me). That said, please don’t feel that you have to NEVER mention donations again.
Maybe just think carefully and review what you are about to say, before you post. But don’t beat yourself up so much about the past. It will be fine.

I have never been offended because I have been a 300 member for several years; but I commdnd your willingness to try to right a wrong you think you have done.
Chill babby, it’s all good and people will be compelled to contribute by their own virtue.
It’s frustrating to know we have to keep the money rolling in but, that is also what makes this place so great.
JR & JR could have easily gone all Arianna on us and then the site would become another community entirely.
As it is, we have to put up with some crap but, while JR2 are the bosses, this place is largely ours and we decided what the community standards.
