Remember this from last week? -- "Mark My Words, The House is Going To Be Rocked in The Coming 72 Hours"
I wasn't really holding my breath. But I really wish journalists (who are supposedly on "our" side) would stop writing tripe like this.

It’s a technique developed by bloggers.
Some actual media folks have adopted it.
It’s crap, don’t fall for it.
Shun it, mock it, it is of the devil.

The only thing sites care about these days are clicks. They can say whatever they want to make you click. “Unnamed sources” rule the day, and people just make shit up and call it news.

Journalistic sensationalism (e.g., “bombshell”) in the internet era = clickbait to increase Google rankings and ad revenue. If it looks like BS and smells like BS, guess what it most likely is.

And it spreads at the speed of light. Blogger A makes something up just to get hits. Semi-reputable news site B picks the story up, not bothering to vet it.
Then reputable news site C picks the story up, siting site B as the source. This would all actually be funny if the potential for harm wasn’t so great.

I won’t believe it til I see it in the Canada Post Blog, posted on FR two days later by SeanAnthony who doesn’t get paid for doing so and is always too busy to reply to any comments.
