Nope.

The perp is the actor of his own agency...he is fully and solely responsible...

Damned right they should be held liable. Criminally as well as civilly.

Charles Murrary has said we have to use the tools of the left to slow them down and bog them down like they did us.

A Giant Class Action Lawsuit against every Sanctuary City for previous deaths and or bodily harm and name all the plaintiffs, all those politician's involved. Make it huge and on everyones radar.

Judicial Watch should file it, then let the fir fly.

The question is too simple.

As a civil matter, the right question may be:

If the officials in a “sanctuary city” knowingly released an illegal immigrant, knowing that that person had previous criminal convictions, and that the person was again wanted for deportation as an illegal immigrant, and that person, after release by the sanctuary city commits another crime, causing death, bodily injury or property loss or damage, those who suffer from that crime of the illegal immigrant ought to be able to sue the sanctuary city, in civil court, on the basis of official negligence by the sanctuary city.

My answer is not a quick yes, because the question lacks any context and I think it is context that establishes the right answer.

Many would go to jail. it would be a good thing. they can bond with the thugs they protect, in the shower.

FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. (multiple votes using multiple internetz devices are allowed!) I agree. Your response is much more clear.

Big answer is if a sanctuary city had someone in custody that they *knew* had committed violent crimes, and still let them out, YES, the city should be on the hook.

I know SF wants to score political points, but this seems more of a "harboring and abetting" criminals.

That's wrong, no matter who you are.

Absolutely. No different than taking in a vicious dog that then escapes and injures someone. The owner/keeper is responsible.

The most effective way to deal with Santuary Cities is not to threaten them, not to bother taking away funds, it’s by arresting the mayors and doing massive roundups and deportations. Everyone, just round up anyone here illegally and deport them. Day after day keep hitting them for months. And once that city is cleared of all illegals move to the next one.
