POLL: Do you believe the sexual misconduct allegations against Senate nominee Roy Moore?
Yes
No
I'm not sure
howlin was a bitter Giuliani supporter. Well she was bitter about a lot of things actually, and as vindictive and unpleasant as a rattlesnake (no offense to Herper-Americans, salamander). She left on her own when Giuliani didn’t get the 2008 nomination.
For those feeling nostalgic about the old witch...

Shudder....
The trick, I learned, was never meet them.
You have a great Thanksgiving, Bodleian_Girl!
I volunteered on a couple of Senate races in the ‘80s. Republican conservative candidate, well known in SoCal.
Anyway the Democrats have nothing on what Republican campaign professionals are capable of doing. There were plenty of hot young women on the make and rich older men more than happy to accommodate them. It may not have been strict prostitution but it was damned close. I was in my 30s and I thought few things like that could surprise me but I was wrong. It was like something out of a movie. A lot of them are real lucky that no one had cell phone cameras back then... a blackmailer could have made a fortune.
Saw the same thing on campaigns I’ve been employed by. But one guy I worked for almost always had his wife with him. Stand up guy.
And the younger single women always went for the power or the money.
That’s one thing that threw me off Cruz. You don’t get matching temporary tattoos and then let a young hottie wear your suit jacket to the bathroom to take a selfie.
I think you put your finger on it. In the past no one would know and people could get away with it. Denial was enough if anyone said anything, unless you were challenging reporters. With the Internet and cell phones, the older politicians aren’t used to being caught, and the younger ones are of the opinion that it’s their business and not that of their constituents. Which means this is probably a transition period as people catch up with this new computerized society.
My candidate was a good guy. I never saw him do anything that would have compromised him, and I guarantee you he had plenty of opportunities. The sleazy behavior wasn’t his fault and most of it involved campaign pros and donors. We volunteers were angels.
One time that sticks in my memory was a donor offering his drop-dead gorgeous daughter to the candidate. She was about 20 and the candidate was single and in his 50s. This was a wealthy Newport Beach crowd and this girl made Hollywood starlets pale by comparison. Anyway the candidate didn’t bat an eye and didn’t take the bait. I wanted to take the bait but I wasn’t the candidate...
All the other fooling around involved paid staff and donors. It’s funny how attractive rich 60 yr old married guys are to hot single women in their 20s. I should had a camera...
I would like to second that ‘H*LL NO!’
-and for the same reasons.
The timing, the coordination, and the obvious fake yearbook stuff is the cherry on top. The ‘timing’ is what really gets me. My big take too is it has literally been decades without these accusers coming out. Now, 40 years of someone being readily in the public and could have said something anytime, coming out days before a very important election is totally wrong. This screams a setup.
Oh yeah, and the Cruz-Amanda Carpenter thing... she might as well have run up a flag announcing “hey, guess what we’re doing”. Campaigns can be like extended college frat parties. Throw in long hours, people in close proximity, beer, wine, lots of time in and around hotels.
So true. That's one thing that gives me pause about all of this new found sanctimony of the left.
It was so obvious.
I’m really glad there are angels like you still in the world and, I hope, fewer of the sleazes. You’re what gives me hope.
All’s well that ends well!
All of my text didn’t post. Anyways, that line about the Kennedy’s was sarcasm, of course. But anyway, the teen girls was obsessed with loving the older guys. They chased them. Does this make it right? They were looking for husbands. And yes, many years ago women married much younger. I even knew two different girls who married at 14. I myself almost married a guy in his 20s when I was 16. But then figured out he wasn’t the guy for me. But that is another story.
Exactly. And look what happened to that poor Kennedy girl who they locked up to keep her from dating. She never got to date again after what they (her father and the institution) did to her.
Well I dunno if I would have remained an angel if I’d had the campaign babes trying to seduce me... but being bereft of fame, fortune and power I was saved from their wanton attentions.
In what universe?
Mary probably had Jesus when she was around 16-17. Joseph would have been in his 30s.
You do realize that Joseph had NOTHING to do with Mary being pregnant, correct? You do understand what the immaculate conception was?
So far, only Wisconsin to Florida vertically and California to Kentucky horizontally.
