BREAKING: Gunbroker BANS Sale of Slidefire & Bumpfire Stocks
The Firearm Blog ^ | October 5, 2017 | Adam Scepaniak

If you have been wanting to purchase a Slidefire, Bumpfire or similarly related stock because of recent events in the US you may have tried searching online. One of the most popular sites where people buy, sell and research pricing for products related to the firearm’s industry is Gunbroker.com among others. If you have been finding it difficult to find much, if any at all on Gunbroker, there is a reason why.

Many users who were attempting to sell their Slidefire stocks received a message worded as such today around roughly 6:00 PM Central Standard Time:

Dear Gunbroker User,

The Management of Gunbroker.com has made the decision to no longer allow listings of Bump/Slide Fire stocks or similar items on the site. All existing listings have been removed without winning bidders. Please do not relist these items.

Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.

Thank you,

The Management of Gunbroker.com

This is quite the statement Gunbroker is making by doing this. One individual who was selling his/her rifle on Gunbroker and received that exact message stated:

Well this sucks…my AR Bumpfire rifle was up to $960…then this happened…

To protect the privacy of the individual that this happened to, he/she will not be named. Their sentiments are very understandable considering no notice was given to Gunbroker users.

This is not a lone individual that has been affected either. If you jump onto Gunbroker’s own forum and start digging into “Slidefire” discussions people are talking about the newly developing ban on Slidefire’s.

It will certainly be interesting to see if this is a decision that Gunbroker continues to uphold or if their position changes in this now very tumultuous firearm environment.

Just visited GunBroker...searched on “bumpfire”...found 116 results.

That was thru their app.

dear elcid,

re; ‘What? Sixty years ago Lucas McCain was the lever-action bumpfire Rifleman of his day!

Go look at the 1958 intro: fourteen rounds in a coupla seconds. Count ‘em!’

I have! Even in caliber .44-40 or .32-20, the “Winchester model 92” that HE modified with the screw to hit the trigger .... could not hold 14 cartridges!!

I submit a Hickok45 video on ‘leverguns’:

Well, it took 20 posts this time before condemnation of the NRA fell in line with the Democrat talking points.

I didn't mention their falling in line with Democrat talking points, all I mentioned was how they seem to be all talk and no action; I've personally seen them pass up slam-dunk firearms cases that would help establish precedent because we don't get involved in state-level cases (this is exactly what they told me)… only to see them crowing about their action in a state-level case that they managed to keep to status-quo because it provided good PR.

I don't know about you, but I'm tired of All-talk/No-action organizations whether it be the GOPe or the NRA or anyone else.

Dear south Park,

re: ‘That was 37 minutes of my life well spent.

I have the Rossi ‘trapper carbine with big ‘D’ loop’ in .357Magnum. Nice optimum barrel length for that caliber!!

Remember, the Henry was “the assault rifle” of the time!!
Go look at Gabe Suarez and his DVD about lever-action rifles.

No need for a Bumpfire stock. Amazingly fun! Accuracy is naturally compromised, though. Short handgun cartridges have the highest cyclic rate, since less bolt travel is needed.

Bumpfiring is 100% legal, and safe in a properly maintained modern sporting rifle. Some gun ranges do not like it, though, because they feel you don’t have adequate control of the firearm. I am sure that could well be the case of you bumpfired a cartridge anywhere from 7.62 NATO (.308 Winchester) on up.
