You Can’t Win An Argument With A Moron With or Without a Bump Stock

I’m pressed for time because we’re cleaning and packing today for our trip back to Michigan, so I asked Little Mo -

to work on a post for today. He said he would but he wanted me to {{{POOF}}} the NRA link in my sidebar because of their announced support of the “Bump Fire Stock” ban. Little Mo is pretty hardcore Second Amendment rights, and took offense at their weaseling on this. Still, they’re still the most vocal proponent of gun rights, as well as the leading proponent of gun safety so I’m not willing to deep six them. So we worked out a deal; Little Mo said he’d do the post as long as he can use it as an opportunity to demonstrate the stupidity of banning the bump fire stock. He thinks it’s just another case of everyone signing on to Nuke the Whales because, as Nelson explained to Lisa, you’ve “gotta nuke something.”

Accordingly, Little Mo is presenting two videos for your review: #1 demonstrates how you can “bump stock” your own semi-automatic rifle with nothing more than your body parts, shoulder and finger to be precise, no external paraphernalia required:

Video #2 demonstrates that the shooter using the shoulder/finger bump firing method is - although a tad slower than the shooter whose rifle is outfitted with the official bump fire stock – is actually more accurate.

Moral of the story: Nuke the whales if you must but be advised: you just end up with radioactive whales.

Which Little Mo points out is reason enough to never get into a barroom brawl with a liberal. So thanks, Little Mo, that was very enlightening. And now I’ll be getting back to my cleaning and packing; carry on troops.

HCI, around 1984, came out in favor of a ban on semi-auto rifles and shotguns.

And HERE IS how they will do it, one small step at a time.

And to think, in 1962 Thomas J Dodd and Emauell Cellar proposed the first federal law on common firearms.

1962; “We don’t want to take away your guns, we ONLY want to register handguns! Rifles and shotguns will not be affected”.

1964: “We only want to register all your guns, not ban them! Only Army surplus guns will be banned.”

1968: “We only want to register your guns, and ban “Saturday Night Specials” and small foreign handguns along with army surplus rifles!” (They got the ban on 5 shot army surplus rifles and handguns and small foreign pistols)

1970: “We only want to ban Saturday night specials! Large handguns and rifles will not be affected!”

1976: “We only want to ban all handguns! Long guns will not be affected!”

1981: “The NRA is a rifle organization! They should give up their handguns, and they can keep their rifles!”- Lee Grant on GMA

1984: “We must ban “assault Rifles, unsuitable or hunting!”

1989: George Bush bans import of some foreign made “assault rifles”.

1992: Assault rifle ban passed by Clinton.

2000: first calls to ban single shot .50 cal rifles...

2012 calls for MORE bans on semi auto rifles and handguns. If you can’t ban them then go after ammo limits, the magazines and styles of the stocks.

And so it continues.

Felons not required to REGISTER their guns!

The National Firearms Act of 1934 required the registration of certain types of firearms. Miles Edward Haynes was a convicted felon who was charged with failing to register a firearm under the Act. Haynes argued that, because he was a convicted felon and thus prohibited from owning a firearm, requiring him to register was essentially requiring him to make an open admission to the government that he was in violation of the law, which was thus a violation of his right not to incriminate himself.

] The original Haynes decision continues to block state prosecutions of criminals who fail to register guns as required by various state law gun registration schemes.
