We had a so-called assault weapon ban for 10 years and it did practically nothing. People want to believe that the bumpfire stock somehow made this latest shooter more deadly, but I’m still not convinced. Marginally so, perhaps for someone with a little bit of shooting experience. I wish someone would do an experiment with a few average type shooters; let them shoot guns with and without bumpstocks to see what they can hit. This latest mass murder was bad, but mainly because of the venue and the fact that the guy seems to have had more of an ability to plan such and attack and not quite so crazy as to have the patience to carry it out.
The guy could have easily done as much damage with a Schmidt Rueben bolt action rifle in 72 minutes.
The common denomitator once again is mental health
The assault weapon ban, banned pistol grips and bayonet mounts.
It was idiotic
