The war between die-hard fans of both the 9mm and .45 ACP cartridges rages on. Good news is, all the squabbling has given us the best gun-related memes ever.
A test of manliness is in order
This serious cat is after your soul with its .45 ACP, obviously.
More knockdown power. True story.
Duuude
you just resolved an age-old battle. Read the rest of the 9mm vs .45acp memes here.
More stupid shit. No one wins a caliber war.
Aim for the target.
Yes, there is no one right answer. The best answer is “What works best FOR YOU?”
9mm pistols can be lighter and more compact than a .45, which makes it more likely you will have it with you when TSHTF.
A miss by either .45 or 9 mm is still a miss, and neither one carries much authority.
The heart, Ramon. Don’t forget the heart. Aim for the heart, or you’ll never stop me.
Pistols are for fighting your way to the long gun.
Just something about a 1911.
The best caliber is the one you have with you when you need it.
I recommend .45acp. That being said, when I carry.....it’s usually a .380.
For young healthy strong military or police I believe a more powerful round should be the round of choice. Though 10mm/40S&W or .357 sig would be preferable........ the .45 ACP is a real thumper.
all of that being said.....I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of a 9mm....or evens 22lr. Like I said I carry a little pocket .380.....because it’s little and fits right in me pocket and doesn’t pull me trousers down.
This thread is gay.
I have a very small light weight Taurus 45 I carry sometimes. Sometimes just the l'il 380 "credit card" gun (KelTec P3AT). The main "keep it around" is an old Glock 40 that's butt ugly and feels like a 2x4 in my hand but hits what I aim at with flawless functionality.
Never really cared for the 9mm's but it works for a lot of peeps.
Get what ya like, keep what works I alluz say. d;^)
unread sayeth “Walmart has .45’s at 38 cents a round.. 9mm. cost about half that... Maybe you should use what you can afford to practice with..?”
And the key is practice with. I belong to a private gun club that has 4500 dues paying members. Of those 4500 I would say that about 10% get out and shoot on a regular basis and that is probably a high estimate. I’m talking about 10% rifle/shotgun/handgun combined.
Clint had so many great quotes over his career that some get overlooked/forgotten.
"Pistols are for fighting your way to the long gun."
Or to your 12 gauge loaded with .68 cal Steel Ball Bearings.
Aim for the target.
Exactly! The 3 most important factors are shot placement, shot placement, and shot placement!
45 ACP or 9MM? Get the best of both worlds, the 40 S&W. Stopping power AND high capacity!
The army did a study around WW1 of all different pistol cartridges, even explosive ones, and they found that shot placement was more important than caliber. According to them the only way to put down an opponent and have him stay down was to shoot him in the brain, the spine or the long bones of the legs. That doesn’t mean your opponent won’t die if you shoot him somewhere else it just means they can retaliate before they do. Just as a miss with a .45 is the same as a miss with a 9mm a .22 in the brain is going to stop them as well as a .45. They also agreed with your long gun strategy with the shock created by a rifle bullet’s velocity having amazing stopping power.
A hit with a pellet gun is better than a miss with a 45./s
45 ACP or 9MM? Get the best of both worlds, the 40 S&W. Stopping power AND high capacity!
What the FBI designed and changed-to after their "1984 Miami Shootout".
(Though they may be changing again).
:-/
Just own at least one of each, problem solved.
In the third meme that’s a Browning H-Power not a 1911, 9 mm.
