My Gun Is Empty; Don’t Make Me Pull the Trigger

Following the shooting of Rep. Steve Scalise at the hands of a deranged liberal terrorist, Rep. Thomas Massie introduced a bill for national reciprocity. This bill would make it so concealed carry license would be treated like marriage licenses or drivers licenses; a permit in one state would be recognized in every other state.

The bill, however, has stalled, and Massie points the finger for this squarely at Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. – Bearing Arms

Second Amendment rights, long considered the Republicans purview, are being kicked down the road by Paul Ryan. As Glenn Reynolds, Instapundit wondered outloud: WAIT, PAUL RYAN IS BLOCKING CONCEALED CARRY RECIPROCITY? So what, exactly, is he good for?

ryan-unhappyYeah, we give up too.

One is tempted to say the only thing he’s good for at this point is to do the Democrats’ bidding.

Speaker Paul Ryan will not allow Congressional action on national concealed carry reciprocity to move bills forward, Rep. Thomas Massie told host Mark Walters Thursday on Armed American Radio.  The reason given is Ryan thinks the timing isn’t right to consider H.R. 2909, the D.C. Personal Protection Reciprocity Act, a supplement to state reciprocity provisions of H.R. 38.

Paul-RyanYou’ve been outed as a beard

I assume that the only time Mr. Ryan would consider the timing “right” would be after the Republicans lose the House and Senate in the Midterms. Then he can once again complain that the Democrats are blocking its passage.

To quote General Kelley, although he was referring to a different Democrat  at the time, “as my blessed mother used to say ‘empty barrels make the most noise.’”

Remember Eric Cantor? He was another empty barrel who made a lot of noise until the door hit him on the way out.

Do what they did in those old western movies: when out of bullets and you’ve missed the hero of the film you naturally throw your gun at him hopefully to induce some sort of trauma whereby you can either flee fleet of foot or do a “well okay, you win”.

Paul Ryan?

But wait...

Ryan signed H.R.197&S.845

Authorizes a person who has a valid permit to carry a concealed firearm in one state and who is not prohibited from carrying a firearm under federal law to carry a concealed firearm in another state:

Flip-flop much, Paul?

You folks in Wisc. should have voted Nehlen.

Superman stands there while being shot at but ducks when the guy throws the gun so he wouldn’t get hit?

Correct me if I am wrong, but did not the Supreme Court ruling that was touted as the victory for homosexual marriage state that what was legal in one State MUST be recognized as legal in ALL States? If so, then this bill is moot.

Of course, we know that the Progressives consider buggery to be a right for all, including kids under 2, while there is no such thing as gun rights in their minds. Terrorist events and crimes are just "man-caused disasters" that we are supposed to get over with help and cash influxes from the government.

But I'm a cynic...

We send people to represent us in Washington only to have someone who opposes a particular law being presented for this or that and selectively allows ONLY those bills he/she approves of. How does democracy work again?

Democracy is three wolves and a sheep getting together to discuss dinner plans.

Liberty is a well-armed sheep showing up at the meeting.

Suoerman knows bullets can’t hurt. George Reeves the actor knows that the gun can crack his skull. Great editing at “The Adventures Of Superman”. But hey. It’s like 1955 and a kids show.

Could have been like “Cut! Okay, swap out the real gun with this fake plastic one - roll ‘em” Toss, bounce, end of scene.

Maybe.....just maybe.....the bullets were lead....

But the gun was Kryptonite!

Just a thought.....it’s been a long day.

Paul Ryan ... oh yeah, he’s the guy that politicked for office by showing how good a hunter he is, right?

Paul Ryan ... now, Congressman/Speaker of the house/failed V.P., holding his bitterness in his heart, and forgetful about those who put him in office.
