SEATTLE - Amazon's announcement Thursday that it's looking to base a second headquarters in new North American location garnered quick reaction from leaders across the state.
While the company said that it plans to keep its Seattle space, it will spend more than $5 billion to build another "full equal" headquarters that will house as many as 50,000 employees. Cities and states have a month to apply, and the company will make a final decision next year.

It has nothing to do with cooperate america.
Sawant is an idiot. A liberal idiot at that. But then, I repeat myself.
The left turning on each other; I love it!
Sour grapes for the socialists, communists, and pedophile mayor of Seattle. Amazon is expanding elsewhere to the corporate-hating government of Seattle, along with their clueless denizens. Not that I am a fan of Amazon or Bezos, but I wish both sides would lose here.
Obamanomics: 50,000 new jobs will cause a homeless explosion.
All capitalist enterprises should leave Seattle. Then it will become Detroit with rain.
I hope Dallas/Ft Worth lands that headquarters.
The homeless were living on all that prime real estate?
Time to invest in some land around Sedro Woolley.
Salt Lake is a on a major transportation corridor, and has more than a few Universities.
Denver? Maybe not.
Kansas City. Maybe, lots of transportation links.
Spokane? Labor issues would be likely.
Be fun to see who ‘wins’ the lottery - and the massive increases to the public not involved in this business.
Because I’ll guarantee that the one real thing Amazon is looking for is *tax breaks* - big, honking, multi-year tax breaks.
Seattle’s Communists need a scapegoat to blame their failed policy on. They know the Seattle residents will swallow anything they are told. I am seeing a special tax to be handed Amazon with the blessings of the tax-the-rich crowd.
Ever notice that homelessness are in big or cultural elitist cities run by progressives? Why can’t conservatives expose this paradox?
good news jobs
Both coasts have become infested with socialist idiots. And they are on the warpath. How does it go...
No man’s life, liberty or property is safe while a Congress/Legislature/City Council is in session.
I am hearing that Detroit is making special offers to lure Amazon to locate their second headquarters there. Seattle policy has become anti-business and Sawant is the worst with her anti-Capitalist bias.
I know the jury is out on if the economy is getting better but I do know that a ton of jobs are opening up and companies are building and expanding at a rapid rate . The Democrats and Socialists absolutely do not want this even if it is a mega company like Amazon right in their backyard.
Needs to be near a major univ. And an airport. Save your $$
I say Detroit and get into the property business.
