Yes, that is another source of unrecorded guns entering into civilian possession. There are also a fair number of working firearms pre-1899 that the article didn’t address.

We’re doing our part at our house.

Beau is, ‘Up Nort’ guiding for other Bear Hunters; Bear Season opened today. He got a MONSTER bear last year; no tag this season. (Thank Goodness!)

Anyhow, he was looking for ammo for the, ‘hand cannon’ he hunts bear with and could only find seven rounds. (It takes about 5 rounds to bring down a really big bear.) But then, he looked a little harder and found 40 more rounds.

You can see why this guy is on my, ‘Zombie Fighter Team.’ ;)

P.S. An Armed Society is a Polite Society. :)

.
This is just the logged firearms.

There are probably another 200 million unlogged weapons out there (or more).

There was another post on here the other day stating more than 700,000,000 privately owned firearms which is way more than the police and military combined.

These estimates are all over the place and even with 700,000,000 in private hands that still isn't enough when the revolution starts. Just sayin' (see tagline, I've had it for over 10 years now.)

...404 million..."

Guess we are still safe from a Jap invasion...

Now, if we could just be safe from the Mexican & moslem invasion...Where is Isoroko Yamamoto and his wisdom when we need it?

I’m sorry, but in Texas your father-in-law doesn’t have a remarkably big collection until it hits the century mark. :-). I’m just saying....
