Its already the meal you turn to when youre looking to expend as little effort as possible, and now pizza chains across the U.S. and the U.K. are looking to simplify the process to purchase a pie. The latest innovation comes from Little Caesars, which on Monday introduced its new Reserve-N-Ready service. The key to the service is a device known as the Pizza Portal, which is being heralded as the first heated, self-service mobile order pickup station in the fast-food industry.
So what does this mean for you? In essence, you can now get your pizza without ever interacting with another person. Just download Little Caesars app and pay for your order. Youll then get a three-digit or QR code sent to your phone. Once you make your way to a Little Caesars location, youll simply need to enter or scan your code and open up the self-service Pizza Portal, grab your pie, and be on your merry way.
Currently, the Reserve-N-Ready system is being tested in select stores, but the pizza chain promises that it will expand to other markets throughout 2017.
While some easy-ordering methods from other pizza chains have certain limitations on the kind of pie you can order, just about anything from Little Caesars, its app, and its Pizza Portal is included in this service. The genuine purpose behind integrating advanced technology into our stores is all about improving the customer experience, and building on our convenience and quality, said David Scrivano, president and CEO of Little Caesars.
Ultimately, the pizza chain notes, the goal is to make buying and eating pizza easier than ever, and the breakthrough Pizza Portal has the potential to do just that.
Automation is becoming increasingly ubiquitous throughout the restaurant industry, with some food service providers even looking to replace their waitstaff with robots (though not always with the most successful results). But when it comes down to it, Scrivano told USA Today, the point isnt to get rid of human employees, but rather to boost efficiency. The executive noted: Its all about convenience. In and out in seconds. No line. No wait.
I get headaches from Sonic among others.
I agree frozen pizza from the market doctored up a bit are way better
That's usually the same thing I'm saying!
For those of us who don't have one of the following pizza joints in their state (or at least not near them), maybe this company should look into long-range, cross-country drones to deliver their product. :-)

Great deal. Except our locality increases the price. They try to keep it poetic. $5.55
Little Caesar’s always been P/U. At least that I recall. Definitely in its latest incarnation, last 15 years or so. But unlike others, it has a drive-thru.
Doomed to fail.
Perhaps that is because they had no competition and could get real big.
But then, I think you are missing many chains...mostly bonafide restaurants.
Better than, for many things.
I’d include a local chocolatier, myself. And crabs.
round table is the best chain pizza. imho.
Dominos special is usually $6.99, medium 2 topping.
Red Baron cooked a stone is better than LC
Dominoes I had a couple of month ago was awful and inedible. It was the Asagio cheese (that I didnt order] that ruined it.
I think there are alternate cheese selections. I usually order double cheese but just my preference. I see Freepers are into pizza. Even for breakfast I am sure.
A few years ago, we moved from Michigan (Home of Little Caesars) to Maryland. There were less than ten Little Caesars in the state. Proximity to one was on my wish list when house shopping. Kids loved it.
I found a house 1/2 mile away from a franchise. When we closed, our realtor gave my kids a $100 gift card. Friend for life.
You don’t know the whole story. We had more LC back in the ‘90s, then they retreated from here. Now they are coming back, though it is different. Back when, they would put 2 pizzas as a deal on a simple cardboard channel covered with paper sleeve. And they had serious crazy bread. Now just a standard pizza box...which is more stable!
Eh. I’m not that picky about pizza. My main thing is don’t have pieces of tomatoe. I hate tomatoe texture and visual. I like it pulverized so I don’t know. So usually, “authentic” and homemade is anethema to me!
Yeah, there’s no reason homemade can’t be pulverized, but most people don’t view it that way!
Funny, I lived in CT ‘95-6 and found LC again, after it had left my MD. Never had indie pizza there. SE CT. Which at the time had lousy regular restaurants, but great high-end places.
I remember. pizza Pizza. Buy two for price of one. Mike Illitch, the founder revolutionized carry out pizza business several times.
