$8:50/hr for cashiers. I’m glad I don’t work anymore.
No name merchandise. I personally don’t like it. I have friends who do.
Whose tired of winning??
imported chocolate and cookies
yum
They had a brand called McKennedy which did Americanized foods that we liked--frozen pizza, chocolate chip cookies, frozen fries--basically crap food you yearn for when not in the US.
It was super cheap too.
I wish they would open one around here.
There are decent grocery stores but they tend to be on the high side.
The Walmart super center is reasonable on canned and boxed goods but their meat and produce are really expensive and the quality is nothing extra either.
Winn Dixie has a nice store and good meat but again pretty high prices.
I like my local Kroger (even though meat dept sucks) and I like Aldi’s. There are grocery deals to be had at WalMart, but I don’t get a weekly circular from them, so I don’t go there often.
I was excited about a Whole Foods store that opened over a year ago, but haven’t been there yet. I used to drive 70 miles to Whole Foods to buy their “fresh” fish, but now I’m satisfied with Aldi’s very inexpensive frozen fish (Chinese farm raised tilapia - yum)
Looking forward to a new Costco opening in a few months.
Food! Where would be without it?
Whattbout Trader Jose’s?
Aldi is the grocery store I prefer. Usually lowest prices in town, good produce & fruits, good meats, good cheeses, good spices.
Where is the list/map of new locations?
Good...maybe they can end the “food deserts” the libs are always yammering about. Americans are clearly malnourished.
Big news day for grocers with Amazon buying Whole Foods to probably move away from physical stores now this to add 900 more stores.
Aldi’s is open in the Atlanta metro area....It is good for some things, Kroger for others, Publix less....
Sam’s Club gets a fair amount of my business...
Some of Aldi’s no-name products are superior to national brands....others I wouldn’t buy....
They do offer a full refund if you buy a product and don’t like it....
In Colorado, Metro Denver to be exact, the Kroger/King Sooper super stores are incredible. Cub Foods went bankrupt and Trader Joes is newly wonderful. Whole Foods was just now bought out by Amazon and Sprouts is ultra successful with the young white chicks. The chicks like Trader Joes as well. Albertsons and Safeway merged and are called Safeway. King Soopers/Kroger seems to be the best. Especially the new super size stores. I mostly shop at Kings(Soopers).
Fox Radio News just announced the Amazon buyout of 3B$ of Whole Foods. The pitch, geared for Amazon stock sales, in the news copy was the expansion of electronic sales (everbody’s don’t cha know is; ordering on the computer) and having products delivered.

My location in the center of DFW has an ALDI and a Kroger across the street from each other, so win-win.
Aldi has no idea they are about to be massacred.
The US market has had a bitter grocery price war going on for decades now. Many strong chains were utterly crushed, and the survivors are battle scarred.
They have strong logistical chains, and their essential train and truck transport is locked up.
Basically their situation is that of a third party candidate running for POTUS in 2016, after the election is long over.
That store chain always seemed like it should be owned by Mr. Grocer from Grosse Pointe Blank.
There are now 10 Aldi stores in the greater Richmond, VA area. A second Lidl store is about to open, about 1/2 mile from a new Aldis.
Love Aldi - great deals very nice people easy to get around. Aldi is the face of grocery shopping future. This is great news!!
