During the hearing, Senator Susan Collins asked Comey if he had shown copies of his memos to “anyone outside” of the Justice Department.
Comey replied, “yes,” saying he made the decision to do so after President Trump tweeted about possible audio recordings the day after he was fired.
However, that information seems to be inaccurate, because the memo was leaked to the New York Times May 11th and President Trump tweeted on the 12th.
Comey said he hoped to benefit from that leak.

OAN’s reporting is correct: Comey made a false statement of a material fact, which has nothing to do with either who the memo was leaked to, nor what the contents of it were.

The Truth is the polar opposite. Comey will become a leftist legend and be on every show attacking Trump. I predict within six months a made for TV movie about his heroic exploits will splash across a Network channel, hell maybe even a Hollywood movie..
McCain's questions were pertinent, and illustrated a double standard between Comey's handling of Hillary's emails and Trump's conversations. There was nothing confused, either about his question or about the point he was trying to make.

No. The May 11 Times story was based on conversations with Comey associates, not the memos.
He did know he was breaking the law. he admitted to a crime today of leaking documents of which one was classified. Add on another 6 to 8 cases of Perjury and we are cooking. Problem is he won’t be charged with anything. trump has a strange sense of humor, at times!
He needs to be prosecuted with Clinton, Obama, Holder. Lynch, Rice, the Iranian born witch in the white house etc. The damn list of lying, thieving, cheating, libs never ends.
By claiming he made the leak in response to Trump's "tapes tweet" Comey was attempting to establish that Trump had already waived privilege by alluding to the conversation himself.
Unfortunately for Comey, that defense is clearly a lie, since he leaked the memos before Trump (possibly) waived the executive privilege in his tweet.
Yes, it does, and your own summary shows it. Comey claimed the leak on the 11th was justified by Trump’s tweet on May 12th.
This was another event that made him “queasy” or”sick to his stomach”.
He was on the verge of breaking into song:

The Dems own the agenda so he will never be charged with perjury.
