Another "big win" for the GOP
Last week, Dan outlined the insanity of the Republican partys apparent decision to let Democrats continue to run the federal show. At the time, the GOP was fretting about a possible government shutdown that could occur if Congress couldnt agree on a spending plan. Since most congressional repubs are terrified of a real fight, you started to hear talk of concessions almost immediately.
Now, theyve allegedly reached a deal that will fund the government through September, avoid a shutdown, and (you guessed it) give Democrats pretty much everything they want. For example:
Obama might as well still be in office.
I have to take mother shopping today so I can’t read this now.
I’d recommend anyone that doesn’t want to be ill for 12 hours not read it.
Trump’ll send it right back.
I HATE RYAN and mcconnel and mccain and linda and etc.
Republican partys apparent decision to let Democrats continue to run the federal show.
How we got into this mess caused by spineless wimps.
Tell us about it, Sean. No, really....anytime.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
He is. In the body of Schumer, the guy who actually controls the Congress.
It’s 2004 all over again.
Trump needs to hardball Ryno now. Not let him off the hook til 2018.
This isn’t the fight to have right now. NK is breathing down our necks and our troops need to be paid. The real fight will be the fiscal 2018 budget in September. That means no more resolutions.
Then what good is Trump? No border wall funding and sanctuary cities funding isn’t addressed.
The real fight is never if the GOP is your fighter.
“...Trump’ll send it right back....”

Unfortunately, he won’t. Consequently, the ‘RATS will be further encouraged.
This takes away the shutdown card from the Dems. Trump can now focus on tax reform and repealing Obamacare. 5 more months of spending on liberal programs ain’t gonna kill us.
And now I hear Ryan doesn’t have the votes for Healthcare.
smh
Trump keeps complementing Ryan and saying he has a hard job. I don't think Trump is going to move against him and Trump will probably praise the CR as a victory and sign it as soon as it gets to his desk.
The wall is funded, it’s just called differently in the CR.
More than anything else, it all comes down to the debt ceiling. There had to be a way to get that raised. This was it.
I'll disagree. Paul Ryan controls the budget negotiations. The problem is that he's a back-stabbing traitor. The second problem is that not only did the phonies in the HOR vote him in a second time, they STILL aren't getting rid of him.
Sure changes the odds on a second term.
Only way to recover (politically) is for DT to veto it.
Roll the dice...
