Ben Carson Was Right About Slaves As Immigrants
Canada Free Press ^ | 03/07/17 | Douglas V. Gibbs

Posted on 03/07/2017 1:39:23 PM PST by Sean_Anthony

Carson was talking about the work ethic and dreams of immigrants who came to the United States through Ellis Island

Ben Carson is so intelligent, it screws up the liberal leftists who believe they are smarter than everyone else. For example, the liberal left was all over Ben Carson in November of 2015 when he said, “Jefferson, seemed to have very deep insight into the way that people would react and tried to craft our Constitution in a way that it would control people’s natural tendencies and control the natural growth of the government.” Thomas Jefferson, however, was in France during the Constitutional Convention in 1787, so the Democrats and their minions leaped all over it, and accused Dr. Carson of being in error.

That horrible ad filled site wouldn’t show me what Obama’s quote was. I hate these ad filled sites that you can’t quickly read or scroll on.

“By force?”

Immigration: 1The action of coming to live permanently in a foreign country.

Oxford dictionary.

Doesn’t say anything about force.

Your thought process and logic are as weak as a liberal’s.

Okay. With you. People sold into bondage, shipped to another country against their will are immigrants.

The thing is, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison were in daily correspondence

Hello? Minimum round-trip time for a letter was two weeks, and probably closer to a month.

That did not mean they didn’t write each other every day, though I do not know whether or not they did.

“Okay. With you. People sold into bondage, shipped to another country against their will are immigrants.”

With you, emotion trumps logic.

They were subject to forced immigration.

The word is accurate. It’s understandably not commonly used in this context and seems incongruous. But it is techically accurate.

You want to deny the meaning of words because of your emotions.

You also want to use it to deride an honorable person.

Okay, well why don’t you grab the latest Webster and sit down and go through and redefine words to bring them up to liberal standards of today.

Jefferson and Adams were political adversaries when the Constitution was drafted. They may have corresponded, but it certainly wasn't daily.

Well you just lost the debate. As soon as you are unable to defend your position with facts you have to resort to personal attacks. Obviously you've not seen my profile page otherwise you wouldn't be acting the way you have. Thanks for playing anyway, Have A Nice Day. I checked yours however. Figures you've nothing really to say.

ifinnegan hasn't created an about page.

There’s no debate about the definition of the word.

“I support Dr.Ben but your not an Immigrant if your forced against your will to go to a country in chains.”

I agree with the sentiment and stated earlier that it sounds incongruous.

But, it is technically correct as per the definition of the word.

They lived only 30 miles from each other—Montecello and Montpelier.

I thought this thread was about that time when the Constitution was being drafted. During that time Mr. Jefferson was living in Paris.
