Does ‘When We Rise’s’ Failure Signal End to the Culture’s Long ‘Gay Moment?’
Newsbusters ^ | March 6, 2017 | Matt Philbin

“USA [Network’s] gay-murder mystery Eyewitness was canceled, and CBS’s Doubt—the first network television show to feature a trans actress (Laverne Cox) as a trans in a lead role—was dropped after just two shows.

But the far more visible failure is ABC’s over-hyped gay agenda mini-series When We Rise, which crashed like a cheap Pride Parade float last week.

When We Rise isn’t working... does that mean they can’t get it up and running? They’re impotent to get things going?

When I first heard the title "When we Rise" I immediately thought it was a double entendre for a homosexual erection. Queers like to do this sort of implicit sexualizing.

The homo DUmmies even have a posting on “When We Rise,” and the reviews are mixed, if not disparaging.

A couple of Gay guys, so and so and his Husband, won the HGTV Dream House last year. What are the odds? LOL

Stopped watching Supergirl because I got tired of finding out how gay Supergirl’s sister was. Loved the first season, which was just a lot of fun.

I never got that far. It was bad enough with the feminism promoted by the show, but as soon as they introduced the "black" Jimmy Olsen and made Supergirl have the hots for him, I said to myself, here they go with their "diversity" agenda. No thanks.

It does not surprise me at all that they are going to trot out a "gay" sister. Female homosexuality is less offensive to the public than is male homosexuality, but it is still pushing an agenda.

Another Greg Berlanti piece of garbage on tv. Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tommorrow (or something like that.)

Garbage, Every show he is involved with is pure garbage.

Never watched any of those shows because I thought they were garbage. Now I know what they all had in common.

There was a show on USA a couple of years ago called “Dig” about an FBI agent in Israel. Not a bad show and I was watching until they wrote in a Gay subplot where is Israeli was in bed with another man. That was it, gave up on the show.

Then there was the excellent series “Bosch” based on the Michael Connally books. In the first season, only for a few seconds in one of the episodes we find Bosch's supervisor, a woman, in a long lip lock with another female cop. That was it, but they just had to write that in. Otherwise a great series and it never came up again.

In today's entertainment they have to find a way to write one or more gay characters into a subplot, even if it hasn't got anything to do with the storyline. Sorry it is just a turnoff and I do turn the shows off.

Enjoyed your post.

I agree completely.

I too am a fan of Major Crimes but inserting that silly gay kid is waste of my precious time. They’re not writing this stuff as part of any dramatic and moving story. They’re writing it because someone’s paying them to add it in every damn show and commercial on TV.

You’re right about the HGTV thing too. In my whole life, just been around, I’ve never met a gay couple buying a house together. Of course I lived a limited life, not all over the world....etc....but my sister is a hairdresser for what it’s worth. Seldom do gay couples buy houses together.

I’m the same way, my rule is if I see some kind of gay, homo, transgender thing going on first thing...I turn it off.

I don’t want it and don’t have to watch it.

“RuPaul’s Drag Race is doing pretty well.”

I’d like to know who watches something like that. Is it women and gay men or what?

No matter what you do on the stage
Keep it light, keep it bright, keep it gay!
Whether it’s murder, mayhem or rage
Don’t complain, it’s a pain
Keep it gay!

We recorded the remake of Tme after Time on ABC.

There was a gay character in the first few minutes and an obvious feminist. We turned it off.

Same here. Enough with the LGBTWHATEVER crap. HGTV = Homo Gay TV. Don’t watch it anymore. Pretty much given up Foodnetwork, too due to nearly every female chef is butch and have “wives.” Turned Major Crimes off at the first gay kiss with that sappy kid. I’ve watched Survivor since day one and tried to ignore the token gay in each season but permenantly turned it off last season because of the transgender they tried to quietly sneak on. No, Mark Burnett and his wife Roma Downey are not the good religious people they make themselves out to be so no more of either’s productions. My tv viewing is becoming less and less.

Yesterday, someone mentioned books were the same. Agree. No more casual fiction. My reading has narrowed down to “how to” books. Sad what the world has come to. So much for new horizons.

I thought This Is Us had a good plot until at the end of last season when the little kid informed his Dad that "grandpa was either gay or bi" and then his Aunt and her boyfriend excused themselves to go upstairs for a "quickie" at the family Christmas get-to-gather.

That was it for me.

NO, they’ll just try again and again.. its all part of never-ending propaganda to try to normalize their behavior.... Sorry, but I know if you ended the sexual abuse of boys, you would easily have 70-80% less self identified male homosexual adults. Your “lifestyle” in many ways worships and promotes some of the worst traits of man, and at the end of the day is largely a mental illness.

You are free to live your life however you wish, but I will NEVER ever accept what you do is “normal”. Because it is not. I will tolerate you and respect you have the right to live your life as you like, but don’t think for one minute you will ever convince me that I need to accept your behaviors as normal... because it is not.

You define yourself by your behavior, and try to tell me those behaviors are innate, which is laughable.

I banned NCIS New Orleans a couple weeks ago when the new agent had a lesbo kiss. No great loss as it was already on shaky ground. Once a show gets turned off in this house, it NEVER gets turned back on. Gone are the days when you could relax in front of the tv and have a nice little evening without all the left’s agendas being blasted constantly blasted in your face.

My household has the same, "You have one chance and one chance only to NOT trot out some homo/lesbo/trans crap. Period"

NCIS...gone as soon as they trotted out a homo agent.

How to Get Away With Murder...gone. 1st episode.

Bull...gone 1st episode.

NCIS New Orleans...gone as soon as they had a lesbo kiss.

Modern Family...never watched so much as a promo for it.

I heard an interview with the show’s creator on NPR (I know). It was a very kind interview with the major point being how great it is that a gay show is on mainstream TV.

The big news of the interview was the dog not barking. Even though the ratings were in for the 1st installment, the question never asked was why were the ratings so bad and what does that mean for the gay movement. Fake news.
