She was apparently non-negotiable, and Trump wanted her to stay as Deputy NSA. The expectation is that she will serve 2 years on the NSC
& then get appointed as Ambassador somewhere, she apparently wants Greece. Harward balked at the timeline
that is what relayed to me about why trump is set on keeping mcfarland in nsc for now

Nope. I am not in favor of Bolton. I prefer a military guy.
One reason is that when Bolton is asked about something, unless he would betray a confidence, his answers are straight and to the point. His observations are also wide ranging and he backs them up.
I am not certain Bolton really is a neocon, he worked for neocons in the Bush admin but hearing him the other day on Fox, I think, he sounded perfect for the job. I expect him to fully buy in to Trumps America first world view and serve Trump well at NSA. I might be naive.
