Conservative blogger, Michael Strickland, a former contributor at The Gateway Pundit and Progressives Today, was jailed in Portland, Oregon in July of 2016 after he pulled a gun on a gang of thugs who were going to attack him at a black lives matter protest.
In 2015 Michael was jumped by an anti-gun activist who broke his arm in three places at an anti-Second Amendment event.
Victoria Taft reported on Mr. Strickland’s 21 count felony indictment which you can read in full here.
Strickland, 37, was found guilty of 10 counts of unlawful use of a weapon, 10 counts of menacing and one count of second-degree disorderly conduct.

Well said. I have been taught that if you need to pull your weapon, it is only because you are firing it to save your own life. Pulling your weapon and not firing it can in some areas be seen as brandishing and admitting you did not feel your life was in sufficient danger. Obviously, Oregon is one of those places if you are not a liberal.

Well, he must of did the right thing. No shots fired and nobody hurt. Why put him in jail?
Look who they are putting in jail and then look who they are putting back out on the streets. I think they are getting their orders from the obscure.
Some tend to ignore that, don’t they?

He proved he was not in fear for his life by failing to retreat to safety after drawing his weapon. He basically made an open admission that he brandished his weapon to intimidate the crowd rather than in expectation of needing to defend his life with deadly force.
What a supreme jackass. What an idiot. What a maroon. I have our laws that see him go to jail for being an idiot, but he definitely aimed a loaded weapon at people who he had no intention of shooting, almost the polar opposite of being in fear for your life.

If you noticed the video specifically did not show the crowd. I would like to see the video that he shot. This will no doubt be appealed.
Putting the gun away is only the admission. The idiocy was brandishing.
He had a gun available. The right course of action is to grasp the concealed gun and try to de-escalate the situation, then retreat. If rushed, the gun is already in hand to defend himself.
He chose to brandish, the flaming idiot.

In most free states you can use deadly force to protect yourself or someone else from death or injury. Most reasonable people believe that you can use your firearm to stop a serious crime that has the potential to harm someone.
Dumbass.
He had no reason to pull, and was obviously not in fear for his life as he made no attempt to escape.
I’d have convicted him too.
I carry everywhere, everyday. I can’t imagine doing something like this.
Hope Ice does a visit to San Jose soon, they have a pay back coming. Will not be a friendly welcome from fellow officers they were on the wrong side there.
