The two judges who have been considered the top finalists to be President Donald Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court — Neil Gorsuch and Thomas Hardiman — are being brought to Washington ahead of tonight’s White House announcement, sources tell CNN.
Gorsuch is supposedly already in D.C., Hardiman is en route. How is this going to work? Will they both be at the announcement? Why would you invite the runner-up to witness firsthand that he’s not going to achieve his lifelong dream of being named to the Supreme Court? And if the runner-up isn’t going to be at the announcement, why make him come all the way to D.C. to get the thumbs down in person?

Anyone can wait (and, btw, I plan to do so). But anyone who can’t wait can find out which of the 2 judges will be nominated by checking out their schedules for the next couple of weeks.
The question is, does Trump like to Grandstand? If that’s the case, then I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s neither of them. I was sort of hoping for Thomas Lee, Mike Lee’s brother.
Nominate them both. No rule says there are supposed to be nine, right?

Yes; he does. Within the last few days I think he said he had narrowed it down to two or three, but that he reserves the right to select from ANY on the original list. It could be interesting.

I think federal law as of now sets the Supreme Court at nine members. That number could be changed . But since FDR tried to pack the Supreme Court with additional members there has been no serious effort to increase the size if the court
