Celebrity chef and self-described privileged Eastern liberal Anthony Bourdain slammed his fellow leftist elites this week, arguing that their disdain for working-class Americans helped create the upswell of rage and contempt that propelled Donald Trump to the presidency.
The utter contempt with which privileged Eastern liberals such as myself discuss red-state, gun-country, working-class America as ridiculous and morons and rubes is largely responsible for the upswell of rage and contempt and desire to pull down the temple that were seeing now, Bourdain said in an interview with Reason magazine.
Ive spent a lot of time in gun-country, God-fearing America, Bourdain continued. There are a hell of a lot of nice people out there, who are doing what everyone else in this world is trying to do: the best they can to get by and take care of themselves and the people they love. When we deny them their basic humanity and legitimacy of their views, however different they may be than ours, when we mock them at every turn and treat them with contempt, we do no one any good.(continued)

Give him a year or two, he just might come around.
Anthony B. ought to know...he’s one of these Libs.
This is the same stuff Michael Moore has been trying to communicate to his “enlightened” peers.
It is the progressives experiencing a glimmering of why they failed.
I hope they are unable to convince anyone. Because it’s the truth and if they figure it out we’ll face a larger threat.
Hey Bourdain -
I don’t give a damn what you think of me, my loved ones, and fellow conservatives. LOL
Keep deluding yourself that you are special!
I want nothing to do with North Eastern liberals. They can ride their high horses over a cliff.
Does not matter Bourdain shows his contempt and his condescension. Zimmerman is more outgoing. Bourdain also interjects political opinion into his work whereas Zimmerman does not. I don’t want to sit and watch a show that is going to promote I am better than thou attitude for an hour. If I do that I will watch Me again kelly where its a little easier on the eyes but not by much.
I agree - I have enjoyed many of Bourdain’s No Reservations episodes including the Montana one and learned much. He went to a very remote area at the tip of South America, Tierra del Fuego, a place I always wanted to see. Very cool show.
The Reality of Deplorables as decent human beings just keeps smacking Bourdain in his elitist chops, and he acknowledges that in many of his shows. One of the best episodes he ever did was on Detroit along with Charlie LeBoef, a Lib who tells the story truthfully, including the failure of the politicians. What neither can admit is their own personal political philosophy is not rational and the actual cause of much misery throughout the world.
I am grateful to those hard-core elitist nutties out there who are showing their true feelings about not wanting my money or viewership if I didn’t vote for the Dragon Queen. Adios to you!
Very first sentence posted.
He did a show with Ted Nugent that included some fun shooting.
Perhaps. But I do recall in one of his "No Reservations Required" shows, he spent time with "Uncle Ted" at his ranch in Texas. They went shooting; and while on the one hand Bourdain feared that his lefty friends would hate him, he openly acknowledged that he was having a blast.
And visited Nugent in Texas, ate game, and for desert, rock and rolled with a belt fed .30.
He might be an honest to God pragmatic Liberal who is willing to take an honest look at himself and his kind and call it as he sees it.
His view seems incomplete - doesn’t seem to be repentant for being part of the elite and doesn’t openly call for his ilk to just hide their contempt so as to not piss off the natives....
He’s says this but won’t visit Trump’s restaurant.
Just last week he said something to the effect that he’d never step foot in any establishment with connection to Trump. Another idiot who foolishly gives up half of his fan base over politics.
This guy took too many drugs. Ought to stick to eat weird food and getting drunk. He is high on his own ego!
“He added, We should be breaking bread with each other and finding common ground whenever possible.”
that guy must be schizo, since just a few weeks ago in an interview when asked if he would ever dine with Donald Trump, he replied:
Absolutely f-—ing not, Bourdain said in an interview with the entertainment site TheWrap.
“but I have to wonder, would they be saying this if Clinton had won or would they just have continued being elitist, arrogant snobs?”
there’s really nothing to wonder about: the elitism and snobbery would have reached new heights, which is yet another reason they’ve have been so crushed by defeat.
