Lockheed’s also preparing to offer a civil version of the “J” model for commercial use.
In a former life I flew L-382’s civilian Hercs, for Southern Air Transport. We had a mod to haul around 20 pax. I flew around Japan and Korea on an AMC contract.
Call an airman a fly boy and you’ll experience what a fly boy really is.
Thank you for calling me a young pup. I'm nearly 66 and am flattered beyond belief. ;-)
There’s probably a market; the question would be price. Lockheed’s so used to selling to the taxpayers at bloated prices, I wonder if they would even be capable of selling commercially.
If it was SAT, I’m not sure it is fair to call it civilian.
This is a new twist on an old story that’s apparently being circulated on the interweb. The basic “what are you going to do to me” line dates back to WW2 at least. This latest version is full of holes that even I can spot.
Well I caught a hop on a military aircraft that had a civilian airline pilot flying it. However, he was a reserve officer getting in his flying time.

The airmanship answer was perfecto...the fly boy was a jerk. He was no airman and you know it
Most of the Herc flying was government related., but not all.
You can’t sue a defense contractor for a plane load of soldiers dying in a military plane crash. But you can sue a defense contractor who builds a commercial plane in which people die in, see L1011.
Although humorous and I can appreciate the effort ...
Dumb as hell ... fabricated/written by or for an amateur stand up comic in some small town.

C-130?
Hell when I was a kid we landed in Ketchikan via Commercial Airlines in a PBY Catalina (used until the early 70’s)

Taint nothin new
In more recent years flown in and out of many a POS location via C-130.
When ya really can’t stand it another minute the most beautiful sight in the world is a C-130, until it lands at your destination and then you know for sure females really still do exist because ya see one and whichever one you see first just became/replaced the most beautiful sight you have ever seen.
(Still love the C-130... EX Wife, not so much)
What are you going to do? Put me in the infantry and send me to Fort Hood?
